Coming home that day was an interesting prospect. There was Evie at home, with her erratic moods, but her COOKIES. Wow. Isabella was looking forward to those again. Then there was Sam. He had acted like a jerk last night, but she knew he cared for her. And Dean. He was confusing. He was interesting, how he could be hot and cold (personality wise), yet he was so kind, when he chooses
to be, and he was wicked brave as well. She liked Sam, he was smart (not that Dean wasn't!) and he understood how she felt about books and learning. But he could act condescending, sometimes. But everyone had their faults. Belle was confused about it all. All she knew was Sam texted her in the middle of class, getting her into trouble, and the teacher made her read out the text. And he had asked her out. It was SO embarrassing, and everyone wanted to know all about him. So that was the best point of the lesson, for them. For her, it was embarrassment overload.
Arriving home, there was the familiar smell of cookies coming from the kitchen. Walking inside, she was cautious not to be tackled, attacked, or tripping over something. Inevitably, she did trip, falling over someones shoes. She fell face first, letting out a shriek. Her sister came running out of the kitchen, screaming murder on whoever had hurt Belle, but someone was already helping her to her feet. Sam. He smiled at her, looking down on her from his great height. He was wearing his usual plaid shirt, and jeans. He looked good, and she smiled back. Evie interrupted their moment, getting annoyed she didn't get to stick a knife in anyone. Dean had appeared from the bathroom, wearing jeans, but no shirt, looking worried. Seeing she was fine, he retreated back into the bathroom, almost reluctantly. Sam still held her hand, checking her over for any bruises. "I'm fine"Isabella said in a laughing voice, walking into the kitchen and dragging Sam behind her. She was determined to get those cookies.
Later that evening, Isabella was still digging through her wardrobe, looking for something nice to wear. And yet there was nothing. She was almost tearing the room apart, when Evie came in. After being forced to tell Evie what was going on, Isabella watched stunned as Evie went to her bag, and pulled out a nice black dress, that was knee-length for Belle. "Here you are" Evie smiled at her. "You deserve to have a wonderful time tonight." Isabella hugged her sister, then got changed. She wore her grey coat, Evie's black dress, and a gorgeous pair of silver earrings that Evie also had. Walking into the lounge room, as Sam yelled for her to hurry up or they would miss the movie, she quickly grabbed her biggest heels. Going anywhere with Sam meant she wanted to be as tall as possible. Putting them on, with Evie's help, she looked at both brothers. Like the previous night, they both looked impressed, though slightly stunned. Sam smiled at her, asking "Shall we go?" Isabella nodded, hugged her sister, and said goodbye, going out into the chilly night air.
Two and a half hours later, Sam and Isabella exited the cinema, laughing at one of the jokes in the movie. He had his arm around her, and Belle was glad for the extra warmth he provided on the cold night. They both got into the Impala, blasting the heat on full. Neither of them noticed the figure in the bushes, watching them. And as they drove away, neither of them noticed the grey car that pulled away and started following them. They were oblivious, having such a good time together. And it was then that the hunter started down the path of becoming the hunted.
Once they got back to Isabella's home, they went inside and let out sighs of relief at the warm temperature the apartment was. Taking off their coats, they started going into detail about the movie with Evie and Dean, going over every hilarious detail. Belle didn't notice Dean's smile as her face lit up as she talked, or Evie's glance at Dean as she looked back and forth between them looking thoughtful. Pulling her aside afterwards, Evie asked "Belle, do you like Dean?" She thought for a moment. "Yes, he is a great hunter, and he is nice." Evie chuckled. "That doesn't answer my question sis." Isabella scowled, but was saved by a knock at the door. She excused herself to answer it, opening it to reveal a man, with two cats. "These yours?" He asked in a gruff voice. Isabella shook her head, making the man scowl as she had been seconds before. "I have asked this whole street, and they are nobodies, so they must be yours." Looking at the cats, Belle made a quick, rash decision. "Well they aren't, but I will take care of them if they need a home." The man grunted, handed them over, then walked away without another word. As Isabella closed the door, she once again failed to notice the grey car parked across the street, the occupants silently watching Isabella's home.
"Look what I just got!" Isabella said in a happy voice, showing Evie her new friends. One cat was black, the other grey. Sam smiled at Belle, and turned to see Dean's horrified face. Dean quickly excused himself, while Sam laughed and walked over to Belle. "So, thinking of any names?" He asked. Belle giggled and replied "I was thinking as they are both males, Sam and Dean." Sam smiled and laughed, but there was a sudden sound of keys in the lock of the front door. Evie and Isabella looked at each other, then made the mad dash, grabbing all of the brothers things that were in sight, and handing them to Sam. "Go to the spare room, chuck your stuff in a bag and climb out the window. Its easy, we have done it before." Sam tried to protest, but Isabella shoved him into the spare room, knocked on the bathroom door as Evie greeted their parents, and grabbed Dean, quietly and quickly repeating what she had told Sam. She then went and joined Evie, welcoming their parents back from the surprisingly short trip.
Outside, the people in the grey car watched Sam and Dean climbing out the window, running quietly to the Impala, and drive away. They turned, nodded, then climbed out of the car, approaching the door. A sharp knock. Isabella went and answered it, wondering if Sam and Dean had forgotten something, and was promptly knocked into a corner. She cried out in pain, and hazily saw figures coming into the house. She got out her phone after she saw the figures attacking her parents and Evie. Calling Sam and Dean, she croaked out "Help" over and over. Slowly, her vision was alright, and she saw Evie was unconscious and pinned down by one person, and two others attacking her parents. Isabella tried to stand, but it left her dizzy and with the need to hold onto something for support. She watched horrified, as a knife went through her mothers neck, killing her. Isabella screamed, yet it sounded faint and distant, as she watched her father following the same fate as her mother. And slowly, the men turned to look at her.
Sam and Dean crashed through the front door as Isabella was pinned down by two men. They instantly went and grabbed the men, throwing them off her and knocking them out. Sam went to check on her and she was simply repeating a name. "Evie." He looked over at where she was, and saw that Dean was handling the situation. Sam stood, got each man, and tied them to different chairs, deliberately tying it just a little too tight for each person. Isabella finally got a good look at the men. They seemed to be siblings, all had the same brown hair, stocky build and thick neck. As she stood up again, Belle accidentally stepped in a pool of blood. Her parents blood. She started to shake. Dean had just laid an unconscious Evie on the couch, then saw Isabella. She simply stood there, shaking, blood pooling around her heels, still wearing the black dress from the date she had been on just an hour before. Dean went over, picked her up, and carried her to her room, laying her down on her bed, Sam following behind. "I am a hunter" Isabella said "But I can't even protect my parents. I am useless and..." She broke off, sobbing. Dean held her to his chest, letting her cry, and silently vowing to kill the men who had hurt Isabella. When they woke up, they were going to hell. And Sam looked on, but hearing Evie starting to wake, he went to her, to check if she was hurt. But Sam was going to talk to Dean later. And it wasn't going to be pleasant.
