Isabella ate most of the chocolate that night, staying up until 2 am finishing this assessment and that piece of homework. The brothers were dead to the world, though not literally. They had died to many times for that to be funny. The only sound was of the keys on the computer as Belle continued to type. She had a little freezer in her room, for emergency ice-cream. She had eaten all of it before 1 am. Trying to balance schoolwork, a job, and hunting was tough. Also, there had recently been a girl at school who decided it would be nice to tease and taunt Isabella. She was just hoping the girl got possessed, so she could stab her. Such nice, calming thoughts. She continued working, saving her work constantly, until she fell asleep from pure exhaustion. When her alarm went off, it didn't wake her, but Sam, still on the couch, heard it. He groaned, and noticed that Belle wasn't getting up. Normally by that time, the shower would be on, and music would be faintly heard from the radio. So he went into her room, saw her head hanging on the side, laptop still on her lap. He walked over slowly, shaking her gently to wake her.
An hour later, Isabella was running out the door, Sam waving her off. He had made her breakfast while she had been in the shower, packed her bag while she ate breakfast, and reminded her to return the borrowed uniform from the day before. He was a literal lifesaver. Especially when he was hunting. That day dragged on. Belle handed in all her assessments, early, and got to just read for most of the period for almost every class. This earned her spiteful comments from Alana, but she brushed them off. That is, until she got home. Then she walked straight to her room, collapsed on her bed, and cried. It was just overwhelming her, months of taunting and spiteful comments floating in her head, and days of staying strong crumbling away. The brothers stood at the door, having noticed her running in, clearly upset, and both slowly entered, neither wanting to enrage her. Asking her what was wrong, she went on a angered rant for 10 minutes, barely breathing, just sobbing and getting mad. Sam and Dean hated to see her like that. They slowly coaxed the details about Alana from her, and after giving her lots of food, books, and her laptop, they left her alone.
Isabella spent that night writing stories, eating ice-cream and chocolate, and crying. She also listened to music, and watched movies on her laptop, romantic comedy 'chick flicks' that made her laugh. Also cringe. The brothers left her alone, only coming in with pizza and pie, before retreating back to a safe distance. They were worried about her. She was such a strong person, having been through so much, that this girl must be a bitch to break her. In truth, the opposite was true. Isabella had been through so many tough situations that it only took a small one to break her. But the boys didn't understand this. So Isabella fell asleep that night to the sound of Kate Hudson and Matthew McConaughey trying to outdo each other in How to Lose a Guy in 10 Days. She was oblivious to the brothers outside her door, trying to figure how to make things better for her. But she was going to find out.
The next day, Belle woke to pancakes, presents, and music. It was her favorite song - Jungle. She smiled, looking at the brothers hovering over her, holding food, and smiling at her. "We hope you have a better day today, Isabella." Sam said, looking at her adoringly. Dean smiled at her as he handed her the pancakes. She started eating immediately, making both brothers laugh. When she was finished, Dean took her plate, Sam gave her a hug, and they both left so she could go have a shower. Once she got out, she went to the lounge, to open her presents. It was four different books, ones she had been wanting for a while, and the last one had three movies. She smiled, and hugged Sam and Dean, kissing them both on the cheek. Looking at the time, she grabbed her school bag, racing out the door. Sam called after her, asking "Where are you going?" Belle looked confused. "Uh, school? Like normal?" Dean appeared behind Sam, with his car keys. "Not walking, your not." He said.
Arriving at school, Dean passed Belle a package, saying "This is for lunch. Enjoy." Sam turned and said "Have a great day!" As Isabella walked into school, she saw Alana. But not Alana. She was moving awkwardly on crutches, looking like hell. She had bruises on her face, a cut lip, and was acting timid and nervous. When she saw Isabella, she seemed to have a mini heart attack, backing away quickly. Belle guessed what had happened. She walked over to Alana, smiling hesitantly. "Look, I can guess what happened. I am sorry. If you need any help or anything, let me know." Belle ended lamely. Alana looked at her and said in a whisper "I am not supposed to talk to you. They will come back." Isabella smiled at her. "I am sure that asking for help, and saying nice things is ok. And I really am sorry. I had no idea they would do that. They are sort of.... overprotective." Alana nodded, still looking scared. "The one with green eyes was especially mad. Is he your boyfriend?" Belle smiled, and shook her head. "No, Sam is, the taller one." Alana giggled hesitantly. "Well, I think that green eyes likes you too."
Isabella spent the rest of the day hanging with Alana. She discovered that when she wasn't being cruel, she was actually hilarious, and they both had the same dry humor. That afternoon, Alana offered her a ride, which Isabella gratefully accepted. It had started to rain, and her hair was already becoming a frizz ball. Arriving home, Belle walked in and immediately said "What the hell, huh?" They looked at her innocently, but she wasn't having any of that. "I saw Alana today." The guilty looks appeared on their faces. Not for what they had done, but the fact that they were caught. "That was crap, ok? I can take care of myself. But thank you. For caring. No one has done that for a while. And hey, now me and her are friends!" Both Sam and Dean looked stunned as she walked past them into her room. After emerging half an hour later, she saw them talking quietly together. They saw her enter, and she gave them the silent 'what are you doing?' look. Sam was the first to crack, explaining about how he found a hunt in town. "Lets go kick some ass then" Belle stated, going back to her room to get supplies, not giving them the chance to speak.
An hour later, after wrestling with a ghost to stop it killing a family while Sam and Dean salted and burned the remains, they were attacked by a new fledgling vampire. A machete to the head on Belle's part did the trick, while Sam and Dean took on the older vampire who had turned him. Going out for dinner afterwards was good. Hunting down sons of bitches really made a person hungry. They all sat together, ordering at a diner. They spent the evening together, talking and laughing. Sam had his arm around Belle as she recounted her teachers face as she handed in her 45 page inquiry, cracking up along with Dean as she mimed the teachers face. They spent the whole evening like that. Talking, laughing. Just being normal. It was an amazing feeling. Going home that night was good, and Isabella was happy, properly happy, for the first time in an age. Of course, being involved in school and hunting, it was not to last.
That night, a noise woke Isabella up, the sound of someone up in the house. Dean must be wanting pie again, she thought. Going back to sleep, she didn't see Evie come in, or see the tears streaming down her face as she pressed a button on her watch, signaling the 7 men outside that it was alright to come in. Dean woke to a piece of cloth being held over his mouth, as he gagged and dropped into a state of unconsciousness. Sam experienced the same thing. But when it came to Belle, Evie silently begged them to leave her. But they didn't. And Evie simply stood there and watched as the last piece of her family was taken from her. And one of the men came up behind Evie, and knocked her out. The last thing Evie saw was Isabella's body being limp and lifeless, and seeing her being carried out the door. And for the four hunters, the world had become black.
