Waking the next morning was a good feeling. No monsters, no loneliness, no death or betrayal. Just the morning, with the smell of pancakes and hot chocolate coming from the kitchen. Belle started to laugh, happy about how there could be a sense of normality in this crazy life, even for a few moments. Unfortunately, she got a rude awakening, as she laughed so hard she fell off the couch with a large thud. Dean poked his head around the kitchen door, looking concerned. She got up, hands in the air. "I'm fine, I'm fine. I am just clumsy." Dean smiled at her. "No you're not." She laughed. "You are not around me 24/7. I most definitely am." Dean chuckled, and offered her pancakes. How could she say no? But her first order of business was waking up Sam. She sat very close to him, curled against him, and then she threw all the blankets off, and started singing at the top of her voice Taylor Swift. Sam jolted awake, grabbing a knife as Belle collapsed into a fit of giggles, causing her to fall of the couch. Again. Oh well, it was worth it.
Breakfast was good. Damn, Dean did good pancakes. They all sat around the table, talking, joking, laughing. Isabella choked twice at the brothers jokes. But apart from that, it was the best morning they had all had for a long time. Crowley's revelation still hung over Isabella like a weight, but Sam and Dean supported her, that was what mattered. The rest of the morning they spent in different ways. Sam did some research, Dean worked on Baby, and Isabella cleaned and listened to music, using a spare set of headphones that weren't as good as her other ones, still wet and not working thanks to daddy dearest. Belle started to make lunch, and made sure there was something for everyone - burger for Dean, salad for Sam, and hot chips for herself. Lunch was similar to breakfast, but Isabella only choked once. Good times. Sam offered to take her into town in the afternoon to do some shopping, and she happily accepted. Dean was going to stay behind to do whatever a Winchester does in his spare time.
The shops wasn't busy, as it was a sleepy little town that just seemed to be populated with old grannies. Sure there was the odd teenager here and there, but it was mostly old people, who take an hour to walk down that one section of the street. But the shops had some good stuff in them, and Isabella got it all. Clothes, books, movies, music, food. Sam watched her face light up in each shopped, and he made sure that she got whatever she wanted. Sure, Crowley was her father, and he hated him, but she was so sweet and kind, and yet could be badass, how could he not love her? On the way out of the last store, she tripped, bags flying everywhere. And as she fell, she landed half on a seat, crashing her ankle into it as she tried to get up. This caused her to collapse onto the seat again. And there was an audience to watch her humiliation, the 65+ of the whole town. Sam checked that she was reasonably ok, then went about collecting her bags and taking them to the car. Because of the stupid seat, Belle now had a gash running down her leg, and it was starting to bleed. So Sam decided to carry her to the car, set her down gently in the passenger seat, and gunned the engine, speeding back to the house.
Arriving back, Sam refused to allow her to get out herself, and carried her inside to the couch, then went back out to get her bags. Dean instantly went and got the medical kit, asking what happened. Isabella refused to tell him, on the grounds that it was embarrassing. So, when Sam came back, Dean asked him and he told him. As Dean continued to tend to her leg, Sam went and made her a hot chocolate. Then Sam broke the news. They were going away again. For longer. So Isabella asked Dean to leave so she could say something to Sam. Grudgingly, he did so. As ACDC was being blasted out of Baby's stereo, Isabella started talking to Sam. "I really hate this. I do. Please don't hate me for this. You are absolutely wonderful, and being with you makes me the happiest person on earth. But the thing is, we aren't normally together. You go and hunt, all across the country and I stay hidden. We are rarely together, and whenever we are apart, you don't text or call. DEAN calls more than you! Sam, you are amazing, but I can't continue doing this. I know you won't stop hunting. You can't. Its in your blood. But I can't deal with this. I am sorry. I truly am. Sam, I need to break up with you. Before you break me." The last few lines were hard to get out as she started to cry, voice breaking. Tears fell as her heart broke, and she could barely contain it. She simply sat there, waiting for a reply.
"You think it is hard for you?" Sam said in a low, angry tone. "How dare you?! I go out there and hunt, trying to keep you safe! What about today? I went shopping with you, bought you anything you wanted. And this is how you repay me? Well, thanks a lot Isabella. You know what? I am breaking up with you. And I don't care how you feel. I don't want to see you again. Ever. So get out. And don't be here when we get back." And he got up, and walked out, not turning back. She sat there, stunned at the sudden turn of events. She hadn't thought she was being unreasonable, but apparently Sam had a different train of thought. So she limped over to the freezer, got out the newly bought ice-cream, and sat in front of the TV, watching one of the new movies and crying. But it was The Notebook, so she could get away with crying during it. She fell asleep that night with tears on her cheeks, very different from the previous night.
The next morning was cold and wet, much like how Isabella was feeling inside. It couldn't get much worse for her. There was a low growling outside, and the door opened, revealing Crowley. A hellhound was next to him, hence the growling. Ok, so it could get worse. He saw her tear stained face, her puffy red eyes, and the massive box of tissues beside her, and said simply "Who do I kill, darling?" And with that, she started crying all over again, Crowley standing awkwardly over her, patting her shoulder. "No one." She sobbed, and revealed what happened. At the end she added "But DON'T hurt him, ok? It is understandable that he would say that." Crowley looked at her, gave her a hug, and disappeared, returning moments later with pizza and chocolate. He then vanished again, going to have a little talk with the Winchesters. It wasn't going to be pretty.
Later on, Isabella received a phone call from Dean, asking if what Crowley had said was true. Swearing under her breath, she said yes, and he told her to hang on as he hung up. The Impala came roaring down the drive an hour later, with an angry Dean and an apologetic Sam. Crowley was also with them, to make sure Sam said sorry enough times. When they came in, she honed in on Crowley. "I thought you said you wouldn't hurt him?!" He chuckled. "I didn't, love. I simply talked with them. Maybe some yelling was involved, but there was no torture involved. Yet." She rolled her eyes as Dean came and hugged her hard, whispering how sorry he was in her ear. And then Sam. He started off by apologizing, a big long one, saying how she was right, he was wrong etc, how could he ever make up for it....
So that was how a demon, two hunters and Isabella ended up together on a couch, eating leftover pizza and chocolate, watching random TV shows. Though her leg still hurt, she was happy that the day had gotten better than the morning, and Belle fell asleep next to Dean, her head leaning on his shoulder. When the TV was turned off, Dean tried to move, but didn't want to disturb her, so he simply went to sleep beside her. Sam went to bed and Crowley disappeared, happy in the knowledge that his baby girl was no longer sad. He also left a little present, a necklace, and a calling card should she ever need him. After all, he would always raise a little hell for her.
