Ok, so just one second. Like, how was Isabella gonna make that decision? She needed time to think, a tub of ice-cream, a romantic comedy movie and a book for afterwards. And chocolate. But unfortunately, Belle had none of these. Sam was looking at her expectantly, looking worried at her hesitation. He started talking, reassuring her it wouldn't be like last time, etc etc, but all she could think about was Dean. His face filled her thoughts, and she felt guilty. Like, kissing two brothers in two days, both of them twice. Yeah, that was gonna end well. She continued to hesitate, and Sam looked at her, gave her a sad smile, and stood up. As he started to walk away, Isabella's heart broke watching him. He had put himself out on a limb, revealing feelings to her, which can't have been easy. She ran after him, ran in front of him, forcing him to stop as she came to a sudden halt. Gasping for air - she may be an awesome hunter, but running flat out like that was sometimes hard, especially when she hadn't worked out for months - she held up a hand for a pause. Sam waited patiently, looking at her with his big, sad, puppy eyes. Damn, he was good. Once she could breathe, she looked up at him, and smiled. "Yes, Sam. And I mean it. Life has been difficult lately, and I have been on my own for a while now. I just wasn't expecting to have a massive commitment so soon. I was stunned that anyone, let alone you, could like ME. But I mean yes, Sam. I do." The spew of words came out in a rush, with almost no space between them. She looked up at him, nervous. Now it was her turn to wait.
But she didn't have long. He looked down at her, then without another word, kissed her. And they stood like that for what seemed to be an age, him leaning over her, she leaning up to him. As they walked back to the Impala, he slipped his arm around her, commenting how he loved her dress. She became a classic girl, giggling and smiling. From across the street, a couple of her friends noticed her and waved, but soon they could tell that she was wrapped up in whatever Sam was saying. Driving home that evening, Isabella was happy. Winding down the window, she stuck her head out, watching streets and houses fly by, her hair coming out behind her in a small stream of red. It was longer than when she had originally cut it, but it was still short. Sam smiled to see how happy she looked. He rarely saw her like that, and it made his heart almost burst, thinking about how many obstacles she had overcome.
When they got back, Isabella sat back down, winding the window back up again. Sam came around and opened the door for her, extending a hand to help her out. She smiled and accepted, and he closed the door behind her. Walking inside, he slipped his arm around her again, and escorted her inside, cracking a joke about being her prom date. Belle laughed, walking inside, and saw Dean. The laughter died on her lips as he looked at them, seemed to guess what had happened, and his eyes seemed to echo his heart breaking. He silently walked outside, brushing past them, causing tense air in the room. Isabella looked at Dean leaving, said to Sam that she would go talk to him, and walked out, nervous at what was to come.
Once outside, she saw Dean checking the Impala. "Why are you doing that?" She asked hesitantly. "Sam might have scratched it." He replied in a gruff voice. "Look, Dean.." Belle started, but Dean cut her off, eyes blazing as he turned to face her. "No, you look, ok princess? We shared two kisses, which didn't mean anything. You obviously care about Sammy, and he adores you. So it doesn't matter. So stop acting like you care, and go to him, alrighty princess?" Isabella looked at him, tears in her eyes and months of anger rising to the surface. "NO YOU LISTEN TO ME DEAN WINCHESTER! I care about you. But Sam asked me out. If you had have asked me, I would have said yes! But you didn't, and Sam cares about me. And I care about him too. This is a messed up situation, which could have been avoided. I would have even asked you out, but I didn't want to overstep any boundaries! You are so closed in and take on the world alone, so I was scared to. But you could have asked me. Too late now, so deal with it. Bloody hell, Winchester. Why do you act like this is all my fault? I have so much going on right now - a job, school, hunting, and now you two. So stop acting like the kisses were nothing. Cause to me, they were a big deal, ok?" She gasped, the flood of words finally stopping.
And Dean just looked at her with sad eyes. Sam's voice came out of the house, saying he was sick. His groans were heard clearly by both Isabella and Dean. After an awkward pause, she said "I should probably go see if he is alright." But as she turned away, Dean's hands grasped her face, pulled her towards him, and he kissed her. His hands tangled her hair, her hands were on his chest, and they kissed, slowly, then faster. She broke away, pushing him off. "I had to do it one more time. Don't worry. It won't happen again. But I love you Isabella Lillian, and I needed to do that before I let my brother have you." Dean said, turning away. Belle's head spun, confused by the days events. And she started to run, trying to clear her head from the jumble of events, trying to make sense of things. Tears streamed down her face as she ran down the street, Dean's voice twisted in the background, calling her name. Isabella ran until she was close to collapsing. She had found herself across town, at a friends house. So, instead of going back, she knocked on the door, asking to stay the night.
School the next day was stressful. Isabella hadn't gone home for her uniform, so borrowed her friends spare, which was too small. Ella (Isabella's friend) had outgrown it last year, but her parents still wanted to sell it, but were waiting for the new year for lots of people needing uniforms. In the meantime, Isabella borrowed it for the day. Exams were coming up fast at school, and everyone was trying to study while simultaneously handing in last minute assignments. It was a flurry of work, printing pages, and meeting with this teacher and that. Isabella was pretty organised, but Ella loved to procrastinate, and this meant that she was now running around like a headless chicken, worried about this subject and that, super stressed. But she would pass, and with flying colours. She always did. But the end of year was always hard, and even Belle struggled sometimes to balance out her life between hunting and schoolwork. But at least the last standard for English was creative writing, something Isabella could do in her sleep. Belle had deliberately kept her phone off, ignoring the brothers, who were no doubt worrying over her. Well, let them. They were complex and confusing, and she needed a break, even just a day.
Holidays were coming up soon, and Isabella was half excited, half annoyed. She could do with another week to complete all her work, yet she really needed a break from the constant workload being pushed onto her. Walking home that day, Belle noticed the Impala, said goodbye to Ella, and slowly walked over. Dean was leaning against the Impala, watching her. Once she got there, he hugged her. It was a tight hug, no breathing allowed, and Isabella knew Dean had been worried. Once that was over, Dean started lecturing her about turning her phone off, they had thought a demon had got her etc. Belle was just glad they didn't discuss last night. Upon coming home, Sam was at the door, looking like death, but a relieved smile on his face. He launched into the same speech as Dean, but she just went and hugged him. Sam held her tight, muttering "Did I upset you? Did I go too fast?" Belle looked up and smiled at him, saying "No, I just have had a lot on the past few days, and it all caught up. This house has so many memories, it just overwhelms me sometimes. And last night, I just felt like I had been through a lot, and suddenly, I had someone to share it with. It sort of overwhelmed me, and I just needed a night to myself. It is nothing against you, I swear." Sam looked at her with the same look of relief as before, then picked her up and put her on the couch.
"Are you alright?" Isabella asked, looking at Sam in concern, as he went into a coughing fit. He waved a hand in her direction, signalling everything was fine, but it was obviously a lie. She went into the kitchen, got some medicine and water, and walked back into the lounge, handing them over to Sam. He smiled at her, and she looked down at him, making sure he took all of his medicine, and noticed the cats, hanging around and begging. Once Sam was finished, she took the medicine back to the kitchen, the proceeded to find some food for the cats. They were good to have around, they made Belle smile, and she found them cute to look at. They were also great listeners, and good at making her feel better after she cried. Normal crying was school work, bad crying was after a hunt. Sam fell asleep on the couch that night, so Isabella went to her room to do homework. There was always more she could do for school, after all. Dean stood in the doorway later on, watching her screw up her face in concentration as she quietly recited Japanese words and their meanings. He came up right beside her, left a block of chocolate, and slowly left, all without disturbing Belle. When she checked the clock again, she found the chocolate. Attached to it was a note - 'Studying is hard. Here is some motivation and also help. Good luck, and if you need any help, call. Winchester'.
Sorry it took me longer to update this one. Like Isabella, I have school, and I have had many assessments to finish this week. Hope you are still liking and enjoying this story. Thanks to my friends especially, for your support, your comments, and the way you drive me crazy until I write more! Good luck to all those who have study to do. I am guessing you will need it. :D
