Chapter 7

Detective

During my free time the next day, I hurriedly went to the rooftop only to be disappointed when I saw no sign of Rain. Alone, I ate in the rooftop.

The next day, ganun pa rin. Wala pa rin si Rain. Again, I ate alone.

The third day, the hope of seeing him there in the rooftop was still there. But sadly, no shadow of Rain was even seen.

I sighed in the bench as I ate my food silently. Napaisip tuloy ako. Baka naman wala talagang nag-eexist na Rain?

Imagination ko lang kaya siya?

I frowned with that thought. Kaya?

I almost considered that idea until I took a bite of the bread I'm eating.

"Ah, I remember the taste!" I exclaimed. That's right; he gave me some snacks in exchanged of the snacks he ruined. "Hindi ko naman siguro naiimagined yun..." I said.

Another thing is that I went to the shop he mentioned where he brought the snacks he'd given. And that shop does exist. In conclusion, he does exist too.

I smiled at the improvement of my deductive skills. Maybe in the future I can aspire to be a great detective like Nancy Drew or Agatha Christie, and even Sherlock Holmes.

But then, where is he?

Yup, the case is not yet solved. I still have to find him. He's been missing for three days in a row already. Did something bad happen to him?

I immediately drop that thought. He's jjang di ba?

I tried to recall the conversation we had. And viola, I found a clue!

Didn't he say he's from class 2-1?

Then, I should start looking from there.

I walked around the hallway leading to the classroom of class 2-1. Classes have not started yet that's why students are freely roaming around. Some are chatting on the hallways, some are inside the classrooms, some are playing, and even some manage to find the time to take a nap.

I stopped on my walk when I saw the sign besides the door for class 2-1.

I stood right in front of the open door.

"Dito pala classroom ni Rain," I said in amazement. Now I know.

Peeking inside, hinanap ko si Rain. But I couldn't see him.

One male student is leaving the classroom and I approached him.

"Nagtatanong ka na," he pointed out.

"Ahahaha...oo nga ano!" napakamot ako sa ulo ko dahil tama nga naman ito.

Tumango lang ito and looked at me with a strange expression.

"Nasaan si Rain?" straight to the point kong tanong.

"Rain?" kunot-noong ulit nito.

"Oo, si Rain. Dito kasi siya sa class 2-1 pero hindi ko naman siya makita sa loob. Absent ba siya? At kung oo, bakit?" tuloy-tuloy kong saad.

The wrinkle on his forehead grew larger with my statements.

"Sorry pero wala kaming classmate na Rain dito sa 2-1. Baka naman sa ibang section siya?"
