This is the story of how I met my mate. Yes, mate. As in, wolves and stuff. It is all real, the mating, wolves and alphas. Everything you may have read or seen about werewolves is real so just believe me when I tell you: I found this out when I was about eleven years old.

Just an eleven year old girl. I didn't even know it at the time!
Anyway, this is the story of me and my mate. My Wolf.

Beep beep beep!

I turned over, groaning at the loud beeping of my alarm clock. Damn, that thing was annoying! The noise stopped after I hit it about five times, almost losing my patience and throwing it across the room to shut it up!

"Avery! You have an hour and a half to get ready for school!" Called in one of the maids. Her name was Vivian. I liked her. Vivian had dark brown hair, pulled back neatly into a bun with hazel eyes, shining brightly all the time. Any time I needed help with my homework or just a chat, Vivian would be there for me. Almost like a mother should.

"Okay Vivian!" I said loud enough for her to hear from behind the door. She must have heard because I heard her shuffling down the hall.
School. I hated it. The word sent shivers down my spine just thinking of it!

Even so, I had no choice but to go. At the time, I was ten years old and lived in a large house at the edge of town. The kids at school were extremely jealous of my family's wealth and I was called names on a daily basis.

I needed to get ready for school anyway. There were all sorts of hair accessories for me to wear over on my dressing table so I padded over and looked around. Vivian had already picked out an outfit to wear that day.

It was a casual shirt with jean shorts and pumps to go with it. I smiled to myself. Vivian knew what sort of clothes I liked to wear! She always did.

I changed into the clean clothes and looked back at the hair accessories. My hair was a lovely golden colour and a there were some curls at the bottom. Digging through the draw, I picked out a blue bow clip and clipped some of my hair back so it would stay out of my face.

"Avery, breakfast is ready!" Vivian called again. I nodded even though she wouldn't see it and put on a happy smile on my face. Once I was completely ready, I skipped downstairs and sat at the table, in front of my plate. Yum! It was a ham omelette.

"You look very nice this morning Avery. Trying to impress someone?" She winked teasingly as I started eating my omelette. I almost choked on it as I snapped my head up to playfully glare at her.
"No! Of course not!" I squealed. Vivian laughed at me as I stuffed my face with more of the omelette she'd cooked. Who knew Vivian was such a great cook?

"Are you all ready now?" She asked as she picked up her keys from the side. I nodded, putting on my favourite bracelet and hurried outside to our very expensive car.
"Lets hit the road!" She smiled and started the engine. Her eyes had small wrinkles at the side that showed how much she smiled.

At the time, I only knew a little about Vivian. When she found her husband, they tried for children but couldn't have any. They were heartbroken. Yet Vivian always wore a kind smile. A few years before she started working for us, her husband died of illness which made her lonely. Luckily for her, she found out my parents were looking for a maid that could also look after their five year old. Me. I was like the daughter she never had.

"Have a good day at school Avery!" She said, winding down the window to say it. I waved and blew her a kiss before walking into the entrance. The sound of her car engine faded into the distance and I was alone.
