Picture of Blaze ^^^
What?
I thought I was alone in that forest! Obviously not though. There was someone out there and I wanted to know who!I woke up and bolted up quickly, spinning my head around, trying to find the person who spoke to me. No one was there. I was alone once again. All I wanted was to find another human being. Someone to talk to and spend time with until my family finds me.
"Please come out. I don't want to be alone!" I said aloud for the person to hear. Hopefully they were nearby.
A rustle startled me and I gasped. Standing there in front of me was a large wolf. It was beautiful! The wolf's fur was very light grey, almost white, with a dark grey patch on it's side.
"W-wolfie?" I questioned. It tilted it's head at me, bright, gentle eyes shining.
To test it, I reached out a hand for the wolf. Whether it was friendly or not, I didn't care. What I wanted was for the loneliness to vanish.
The wolf stepped towards me and granted me permission to pet it's head. Of course, I was a little wary that it was a wild animal that could potentially harm me but this wolf seemed... Different. Almost, too intelligent to be normal.
Instead of just petting the wolf, I dropped to my knees and hugged it, burying my face in it's soft fur and crying. It whined at me and I sat down on the floor, admiring it.
"Good wolfie." I told it and petted it again. "Boy wolf... Right?"
He tilted his head forward as an answer.
"You need a name. Hmm..." I said. The wolf sat down and tilted his head at me, as if thinking as well as me.
"How about... Blaze?" I suggested. He barked at me and wagged his tail. Blaze it was then. I still couldn't get over how beautiful he was. This was a wolf after all!I stroked Blaze again, his fur lovely and smooth. The animal in front of me seemed god-like, as though he should be in an animal magazine or something. Or even an alpha of a pack. He resembled power.
"You're such a good wolfie Blaze." I said and cuddled him. I felt so helpless all alone until I had met him that day.
"I'm so lost Blaze. I don't know where I am or how to get home. My escort is dead as well!" I cried into his fur. He nuzzled my shoulder and I looked deep into his eyes.
"I wish you could talk..." I said. If he could talk, I bet he would have said something like "pull yourself together, human child!" Or just be kind and tolerating with me. I smirked at the idea. He tilted his head, confused at my sudden humour. I shrugged at him and he sniffed, I giggled as I thought he was laughing a little wolfie laugh.
My stomach rumbled very loudly after a while. I gasped in surprise and Blaze looked down at me. He was bigger than an average wolf too. I bet I could have rode on him if he'd let me.
Blaze bolted off into the trees. I frowned. Well, that left me alone again. I wished he would have stayed.
Don't be dumb. He's a wild animal! Groaned a voice in my head.
I knew that was true but I still felt upset at the fact that he'd just left me alone to fend for myself.
Sighing, I sat back down against my tree. Yes, mine. I had decided to use it as my sleeping place for a while.Ten minutes later, Blaze appeared again, this time, with a rabbit hanging from his mouth. I gasped at him.
"Blaze! You killed a rabbit!" I paused as he placed it on my lap. "I can't eat this. One, I would need a fire. Two, I would need to skin it. I don't see a knife, Blaze."
He's a wolf idiot, he doesn't know what you're talking about.
Who knew my mind was so sarcastic?Blaze tilted his head but then looked down again. It was as if he understood what I'd said.
"Where are you going?" I called as he ran off yet again, leaving the dead rabbit behind. I sighed. That wolf...
He came back again, a fish hanging from his mouth. I laughed as he plopped it down in front of me.
"I don't have fire, Blaze." I muttered. He nodded his head at me, I could imagine him rolling his eyes at me as he flicked his tail towards the helicopter. When I looked at him, confused, he sighed and walked off, returning with a large piece of glass in his mouth.
"Blaze! Put it down, that's dangerous for you to hold like that!" I panicked and took the glass from him. He gave me a look but sat beside me placidly.
The sun is still up. You have time to make a fire, girl.
I grabbed some dry leaves the other bits I needed until it was ready to be burnt.By nightfall, I had a fire going and had cooked the fish that Blaze had caught for me. Good thing I had learnt how to use glass to set fire to things in a book one time!
I heard a whine from beside me and realised it was Blaze. He was eyeing up the fish that I was eating.
"Here boy, sit!" I ordered. He tilted his head humorously. "Sit." I tried again with him. Reluctantly, he sat down in front of me. I smiled and gave him some of the fish.
"After all, you did catch it for me." I told him.Later into the night, I grew tired and my eyes were drooping like crazy. Longing for sleep, I laid down on the grass. Blaze curled up beside me and I hugged into him because of the warmth radiating off his body.
For once, I felt safe.
