This was the day I had been waiting for, for three years! Finally, I got to meet and even speak to Jared again. My little heart was beating so fast, I thought it might burst out of my chest in happiness.

But of course, in every fairy tail, there is a problem before the happy ending. My 'problem before the happy ending' wore angry features and just happened to be the alpha of the rogues. Yep. Alpha Gregory himself.

There he stood, Celia waiting behind him, shaking and looking at me, terrified. Well, what a great end to a fantastic day. Poor Celia was pale and looked as though she was about to faint.

"And just where have you been, little miss Avery?" He asked slowly, his words laced with pure malice. I gulped.

"Umm, sorry Alpha, I lost track of time. I'll make it up to you!" I said, making my voice sound innocent and respectful. I couldn't let him find out about Jared and me.

Too late.

Alpha Gregory suddenly held a photograph in front of me. A mug shot. Of me. And Jared.

Oh god!

My mouth formed an 'o' shape as I stared at the photo in disbelief. I couldn't believe it! In the photo, I was playing around with Jared and I had tackled him to the ground. My face looked horrific in that photo! Who would send that to people?!

"Care to explain that then Avery?!" His face contorted with anger and a little spit came out of his mouth as he shouted at me.

I blinked a little and wiped some spit off my face.

"Sorry, what did you say? I couldn't concentrate due to the tsunami of spit, launching at my face." I spoke politely, batting my eyes at him.

His face turned bright red as I had infuriated him even more. I couldn't begin to imagine all the scenarios that could possibly become a reality if he got any more annoyed at me.

"What did you just say?!" He yelled, getting some attention.

A few pack members had gathered around to watch the little scene unfold right in front of them. I blinked again at him. I was really pushing it. I heard a few sniggers from behind me. Some people were even betting on what would happen to me.

"That little girl's gonna die, for sure!"

"Nah, she's an intelligent one!"

"She's probably gonna be put in them cells, lads."

I smirked at all their remarks. Clueless as a mouse about to be trapped.

Let them laugh. Tch, idiots.

Suddenly, a surge of energy ran through my body. Adrenaline kicked in and I punched Alpha Gregory in the gut.

Celia nodded at me and tossed me a bag with everything I needed. She really was a saint.

Shouts were heard all around me but I ignored me. Now I had started, I wouldn't stop till I escaped from those wicked people. They thought they could stop me.

Think again.

I bounded off. I was a natural runner so I easily got past the first couple of people. At least until the pack warriors realised what was going on. I probably stood no chance against them.

One of them lunged towards me and tried to grab hold of me. As he did, I quickly slid to the right so he caught nothing and fell forwards. I smiled at my small victory before being confronted by another one of them.

I leaped into the air and kicked him straight in the stomach. It was a powerful kick, I must admit. Even I was proud of that!

The man coughed and bent over. He was winded so he'd be unable to grab me in that state.

I dashed forward, through a gap of people and made a break towards the forest. My one chance. If I got in there, I'd be on my way to Jared's pack and territory.

"Not so fast, runt!" Slurred a voice as a cold hand grabbed my arm. I was just underneath the trees as well. I could've made it there.

"Please, just let me go!" I yelled at him. I turned to see a man around his mid thirties. He wore baggy clothes and had dark hair that covered his face a little.

"Shh!" He snapped as he put a hand over my mouth.

Oh god! He isn't even trying to kill me! God knows what he's gonna do! He could be a child molester!

I did the only thing I could think of doing in such a serious situation. I reached into my pocket with the hand that was out of view of the man. My hand reached something cold and solid in my pocket. Yes!

I turned round to him just as he loosened his grip on me just a tiny bit. He was about to say something when I suddenly whipped out my pepper spray and fired at his face.

He yelled out in pain and dropped me in the process. I dropped to the ground. From my experience, I knew werewolves heal quicker so I needed to leave immediately.

"I-I was trying to h-help you kid!" He said.

I sighed. Of course he was. By acting like a pervert who kidnaps children and does god knows what to them!

"And I should believe that because...?" I started, rolling my eyes a little at his weak state.

"You have to believe me!" He shouted, his face buried in his hands on the ground.

I grabbed his shoulder and pulled him up from the ground so his face was showing. Around his eyes were red marks where he had been rubbing the affected area. I looked into his hazel eyes coldly.

"Sorry, I don't trust people I just met. Especially people who frighten the life out of me."

Next, I pushed him down with my foot so he was lying on the grass. He didn't make a move at all to stop me. I brushed my hands together, as though brushing off dirt.

I then ran into the forest. Far away from the rogues. I never want to see them again. Excitement made my heart beat and I felt as though I could hear it thumping against my chest.

My legs went a lot faster. I was racing the wind. Finally free.

Suddenly, I heard a giant rip and a thud on the ground as I landed. I was now a bit taller than before.

What's happening?!
