"You again?", the man standing in front of me frowned.

"Ah.. What a coincidence! I should get going now.'' I marched backwards to make a run for it, but stopped on my tracks when I heard the sound of a cup falling and shattering into pieces.

I looked in the direction of the stairs. Where on the top of the stairs Bert was standing. He made an expression like he had just seen a ghost.

What's wrong with him?

"Lacie.'' He said in a frail voice.
I just stared at him unable to move. Bert turned his gaze towards his brother. "Ed... ward'', he uttered.

"Hu hu..hu ahh hahahahahaha....'' Bert laughed loudly and manically. "IT'S FATE! IT MUST BE!!!'' He shouted.
"Wow!'' He clapped to himself and came down the stairs. We stared at him, without a word.

"Lacie, you idiot, irresponsible, ungreatful child!'' He shouted, ''Didn't I tell you not to meet THE GUEST? What part of it don't you understand?''

I was stunned by his sudden yelling. My gut told me to run away but my legs couldn't move. All the fears that I experienced as a kid came back to me. I was shuddering by the mere thought of Bert getting angry at me again.

"Did you say 'Lacie'?'' Edward (Bert's brother) said.

"AHH! SHUT UP! ITS BECAUSE OF YOU ALL BECAUSE OF YOU!" Bert pointed at his brother.
At that moment someone hit Edward from behind and he fell unconcious to the ground.
I stared at that figure in disbelief.

"Why?'' I asked that person.

"It's because my master wishes it.'' Barney said with a small smile on his face. That smile was unlike any friendly smile I had received from him. It made my skin crawl, that wicked smile.

My eyes opened slowly. I was lying on the cold ground. I looked around and blinked in the dark. Only the moon light entered through the huge window. I tried to stand but one of my legs was tied down by a chain to the wall. My surroundings seemed unfamiliar. Looks like Barney hit me unconcious too. Jeez that old geezer how much power does he have. I could see a figure standing in front of me in the dark. I assumed it was Barney.

"I thought you were on my side.'' I whispered to him.

"And what side would that be, milady?'', that person replyed, it wasn't Barney's voice it sounded like a young man's voice.
"Definately not the one Bert is on.'' I whispered to myself
"Who are you and what are you doing here?''

"I'm merily following my master's orders.''

"He is going to do something wrong and something terrible. Are you still willing to help him with it?''

He didn't say anything and I stared at the figure in disbelief, did his silence mean yes.

After Barney hit Edward unconsious Bert seemed to calm down a bit and told Barney to make some preperations and left.

"Where's Barney and Edward?'' I asked that guy.

"Master Edward is lying besides you and as for Barney, milady I'm in front of you.''

"Huh?''

"It seems like you don't recognize me.'' He came closer and the moon light fell on his face.

"Don't you think you're too young to be Barney.''

"Ah... that was just a diguise. Master said it would seem odd if his head butler was as young looking as me.'' He smiled at me.

He was a young looking man may have just entered his twenties. His bright hazel eyes shined under the moon light. He was wearing the same butler uniform that Barney wore.
