The words that left his mouth next weren't something I was prepared for.
"That's why I've been with you milady, since you came into this world. For all this time the Demon King had sent me to take care of you and prepare you for this time. You are Charlotte Knott's reincarnation. You are going to defeat her. I humbly ask you to abide with our request.''
What the *censored* !!!
"Y...you what did you say?'' I asked as sweat broke down my face.
"That's why I've been with youー'' Raum began when I cut in, ''I heard you before!''
"Then why'd you ask?''
"Oh shut up. This doesn't make any sense.''
"Actually it perfectly does.'' Surprisingly Zero was the one who said that.
"No we're not sure about this and how much can we even trust this demon anyway?'' Jack asked looking at Glen.
"Excuse me?" Raum placed a hand on his chest and spoke in a high pitched tone, ''after all I've told you and done for you people, you can't even trust me!?''
"No butー'' Jack began, and the bickering started again.
I swear to god, if they keep fighting like this they won't even notice when Luci comes and destroys them.
"Ok enough!'' Fel stopped them by hitting each of them on the head with her newspaper-fan she made while watching them fight and spoke again, ''it seems that Raum is speaking the truth. I have always thought that Lacie was different than normal humans and I discovered the reason is cause she only has half a soul. Since I'm the Angel of death I have records that only Charlotte's half soul entered the reincarnation cycle. Can you explain it to us why Raum?''
"Well... she... uh.. she gave me half for some reasons.'' He uttered.
"What reasons?''
"Personal reasons.''
"Like...?'' Zero urged.
"It's fine we don't need to know.'' Glen said and gave a nod to Raum.
Did he know something?
"So does the demon king have a plan or something?'' Jack asked.
With a smirk Raum dived into explaining the details of the special plan that the King had designed himself. We all listened to it intently even when Raum made various gestures and gave unnecessary dramatic effects to the plan. It mostly consisted of me doing this and me doing that... wait that came out all wrong.
It mostly consisted of what I was supposed to do like I had the main role in performing the sealing spell and then the angels and demons would kill her, well mostly the legendary five and Zero since his power could match Luci. Jack who didn't have a lot of power was supposed to watch from the side lines, which he didn't approve of.
"I still don't think Lacie should be sent to face her alone.'' Jack protested.
"Zero will be with her.'' Fel tried to say it in a consoling manner.
"Like that would help.'' Jack retorted.
"I.... I can try it.'' My voice wavered. "I mean I'm not sure if I'll succed but it's worth a try you know.''
"It is.'' Raum said with a small smile.
"Well it's decided then!'' Fel clapped her hands in excitement. "We will do our best to win!''
"I shall speak to the King about this and he'll be here to train you.'' Raum got up and left. And Jack went after him.
I glanced at Zero who was finishing his breakfast. "You better not let me die out there.''
He looked at me from the corner of his eye and smirked, ''Don't worry when it comes to it, I'll kill you myself.''

Jack and I were sitting on the beach rocks watching the sunset. Not one of us uttered a word. After this morning I don't know how Jack felt about me taking on Luci.
"You don't have to risk it you know.'' Finally he broke the silence.
"I saw you, what you went through with your family. Wasn't that enough? Let us take care of this matter, stay out of it.''
"I wish but... honestly it seems I can be the only one to do this.'' I wanted an end to all the fights and just continue being friends with these people. I wanted everyone to live a life without fear.
"Look just give me something to go on here. Why do you need to be stubborn all the time.'' He frowned at me.
"I really want to help!''
"This is going beyond helping! You are risking your life for a fight you can't even win!''
"Why do you think we can't win? It's an amazing plan. We can fight till the end.''
He completely shifted on the rocks to turn towards me. "Look just listen.... I've seen her before, heck I've fought her before! I want to stay positive about this situation but I don't want you to get hurt.''
"Why?'' I asked. Did he start to like me too?! ( ⸝⸝⸝•_•⸝⸝⸝ )
Here's to hoping! He shifted a bit uncomfortably.
"Of...ofcourse cause we are friends!'' He answered.
This guy! I took in a deep breath. "Let's do this Jack, we can win. And you will protect me right?''
"Do you even need to ask me that?'' He smirked.

(DAY OF FINAL BATTLE)
We were well prepared. I practiced a lot to perform the sealing spell. And I was... well some what confident in myself. Everyone was hiding well in the forest and in the mountains.
And so we began. Zero summoned Luci with his powers. And there she was standing in front of me as beautiful and majestic as she was. Her lips slowly puckered into a smile as she saw Zero standing behind me.
"So you finally wanted to meet me?'' Her velvety voice spoke as her gaze settled on me.
"Y..ye...yes.'' God! Keep calm damn it!
"I get you have your reasons to keep me restricted in this witch circle, but what is this army of angels and demons doing with you?'' She smirked.
She knew! She knew about our plan. I looked at Zero from the corner of my eye and he seemed panicked. Guess he picked up on the fact that she knew!
Fel yelled ''Lacie start!'' And she flew down creating a barrier around Luci.
I began to read the spell. And Luci seemed like she wanted to chew me for dinner. She did her best to fight back Fel, but I continued the spell. Somehow my legs felt weak. I felt this was draining me off my energy. I kept going even when my vision began to blur.
Out of no where Fel was pushed back and I could sense immense power coming from Luci
I saw Zero running towards her to fight her but, he was pushed back like Fel. What was that? Something was odd about Luci. Why was she suddenly so powerful. In a blink of an eye she came and stood in front of me. "You little fool! You deserved to be punished.''
What...? And then I was falling. I didn't realize that a big hole was created under my feet. I just felt so weak I wanted to stop. What happened? Why did I feel so weak? I just wanted to close my eyes as I fell down inside pitch black darkness. I tried to keep my eyes open till the light began to seem distant from me.
Was the light moving far away or was I falling into a place filled with darkness? I think I saw someone jump in after me. Were they trying to catch my hand? I lifted my hand so it would be eaiser for them.
My vision was blurred further. The light disappearing slowly behind the shadow that caught my hand. They pulled me towards them and held onto me tightly.
Huh..? Was it Jack? Why does he look so concerned? My eyes were barely open, but I thought to myself. What is this idiot doing holding me like this? He's going to fall with me if he doesn't leave. Jack just save yourself.....
