The story of the past that I heard from Bert, left me with the feeling of anguish. He just went ahead and ruined my family because he couldn't gather the courage to confess his love!
What was there to gain from all this?!
Wait a minute... after my father who had supposedly been dead my mother fell sick and died after three years.
"You didn't explain why she's alive?'' I said in a low voice. I bet my eyes showed my helplessness.
"Yeah.. it is true that Elise died but, I bought her back.'' He looked arrogantly at Raum.
"Well it is technically breaking the laws of nature, but they were my master's orders. It's not like she's completely back.'' Raum whispered to me.
"What do you mean?''
"Your mother has no soul.''
Wha... what the hell is he saying?!! Even though I've spent a fair share of time with the unnatural, you couldn't even comprehend what this made me feel. My mother even though I've not known her long, I could feel her pain. She wasn't even allowed to rest in peace, was it that hard for him to let her go? Didn't he claim to have loved her so deeply, that her marriage and my birth bought him sorrow. Then why? WHY would he torture her like that!
"She doesn't recognize me?'' Was all I could ask.
"Well it's not just that, do you remember all the murders that took place in this town?''
"The angel murders?''
"No, the ones that take place every two-three months, it started when you were in middle school."
"Yes the serial murder case, what of it?''
"You're uncle's the one behind it and that's not even the best part, he did it because-''
"What are you two muttering over there?'' Bert eyed us suspiciously.
I didn't know what to do, how do I sort this situation out without getting killed. Why has that man done something so cruel to my mom?
"You don't love my mother!'' I glared at Bert.
''Excuse me?''
"You don't love her. You just simply want to fulfil your desire to have her. But I pity you cause even after her death she didn't love you. Until she died she loved my dad and my brother and me. All she ever thought was the happiness of her family which you weren't a part of. She was kind and caring and very cheerful and the one who's hand your holding is not her!''
I said it, all of what I've been thinking ever since he told that story."She married me!''
"Out of pity!''
"How dare you?!" Bert took out a gun from his pocket and pointed it at me as if throwing daggers with his eyes wasn't enough.
"Master!'' Raum shouted.
*Bang*
The sound of the gunshot made me close my eyes, thinking that the bullet would hit me any second.
~1 minute passed by~
Am I alive? I didn't feel anything hit me. Or I'm dead and the bullets just work that fast.
I opened my eyes just to see my mother on the ground and Bert's stunned expression.
"The dead should just remain dead.'' A familiar voice said that.
I looked up and Jack was standing there infront of the moon. His strong figure posing as a knight. His black eyes showing the same blankness when he had a fight with Zero. I was happy to see him but that happiness was overtaken by the animal instinct to run away from the dark atmosphere around him and the immense pressure of his power. Wait... what was he standing on?
