It's been two days since the trip, I haven't seen Jack yet. The things that he said are still bugging me. It's boring as usual, winter is already here. I can see the leaves falling. Only fifteen mins more and we'll go for lunch. Food is all I can think about now, I am starving.

We all make our way to an empty table and take our seats. I dig in my sandwich, it's tasty.

"You were in detention again!?" Robin asks almost shouting. Mark nods at her.

Robin doesn't like Mark playing pranks on teachers. He usually ends up in detention, he should be more careful this is the third time he's gone in detention this week. There wouldn't be a fourth time.

"I'm thinking of ditching school for rest of the day, you coming?" Kate asks me.

"Sorry but I can't, I have another plans today."

"It's fine it'll just be me and Eric then." She whispers to me and I chuckle, but will it be alright. I know Kate seems excited about going out alone with Eric but I hope he dosen't bail on her. Robin is all serious about her studies and she won't let Mark ditch school, with the exams approaching. It must have been Eric's idea.

"Where are you going?" I ask Kate.

"Just going to hang out with some of Eric's friends." Yeah, not good enough answer Kate.

"Just be careful."

"Don't worry about me, I'm just excited to meet his friends." She gives me her reassuring smile, but that doesn't put my worries to rest.

After school I head towards the hospital, I'm pretty excited to spend my time with my younger brother too. His name is Peter, he is 12 years old. Just like me he has brown eyes and dark brown hair. But he has been admitted in the hospital, he rarely gets to go out, play with kids his own age. I hate that he is not able to enjoy his childhood.

He has a weak heart and needs a transplant. It's been years since I took him out some where. All I can do is visit him and give him some books to read. When he was 7 the doctors told me about his condition, I was the only one there I remember being alone in the hospital crying, knowing that I couldn't do anything for my brother.

I'm here.

Putting all the thoughts aside, I head in. Most of the nurses know me, I've been coming here since I was a kid. I smile and greet nurse Margie, she's in charge of my brother.

Hmmm lot of cute doctors here.

I open the door and he's comfortably sitting on his bed looking outside the window.

"Hey, what you looking at?" I enter the hospital room and close the door behind me. He turns towards me and grins.

"What happened?" I ask.

"I asked the doc if I could go out for this Christmas, and he allowed me." He looks so happy, but how come the doctor changed his mind.

"So where do you want to go?"

"No where in particular but, may be you could take me to visit mom." He says softly.

I pursue my lips and say, "We'll see."

He gets one day out and he wants to visit the graveyard. I would have taken him there but he'd just cry. He was only a baby when my mom died, more like killed. It hurts me too when I think about my mom.

"Look what I got you." I show him the pastries that I brought for him. he doesn't really like the hospital food. I keep the pastries on the plate and hand him the fork.
