Stefan's POV

I was sitting in my window starring out with my diary on my knee. I didn't know what to write. I haven't written anything since I met Elena, it's been over a year. My minds just blank. I then thought of the accident last night, then it came to me, I will just write about what happen last night. I clicked the pen and started to write:

'Dear Diary,

It's been a while since I've written, so much has happened with Elena, Damon and everybody else but last night was a horrible. Elena died, luckily she had vampire blood in her system, but we all know Elena doesn't want to be a vampire. It's all Rebekah's fault. If she hadn't of stood of the middle of the road, Matt wouldn't of driven of the bridge and into the lake. I was the one to swim to them. Elena wouldn't let me save her, she wanted me to save Matt first, so I did. I wish I hadn't but if I hadn't Elena would hate me now because Matt would be Dead. She'd be human though...'

There was a knock on my door. It was Caroline.

''How are you doing?'' Caroline asked.

''Better now I know she isn't actually dead,'' I replied. There was a silence and then I said ''She's going to be so scared when she wakes up,'' I put my head in my hands. ''She didn't want to be a vampire, we all know that. It's all my fault.'' I carried on.

''Its not your fault.'' Caroline put her hand on my shoulder. ''If Rebekah wasn't standing in the middle of the road then it wouldn't of happened. It's just lucky that there was vampire blood in her system.'

''I guess your right.'' I smiled at Caroline and hugged her.

''Well we better get going. Elena will be waking up soon and she will want you there when she does.'' Caroline said. We both then headed to Elena's house with Damon.

Damon's POV

When we arrived at Elena's house, Jeremy immediately ran down the stairs.

''She's just woken up and she's freaking out.'' Jeremy told us. Stefan and I ran up the stairs and into Elena's room, to find her throwing things around the room.

''Elena, stop!'' Stefan shouted. I grabbed Elena as Stefan closed the curtains.

''What's happening to me?'' Elena cried.

''You're in transition.'' Stefan told her. ''But I'm going to find away to stop you from turning.''

''You can't stop her, she's already in transition. You feed or you die.'' I told her. Elena froze looking straight ahead of her, she knew I was right. The only way to solve this is for her to feed, otherwise she will die.

''I don't want this!'' Elena shouted, she then jumped up and ran down stairs. Stefan and I followed.

Caroline's POV

Elena came running down the stairs and into the kitchen, where Jeremy and I were sitting. Damon and Stefan followed her down as Elena sat down next to me.

''Are you ok?'' I asked her.

''Obviously not Caroline!'' She snapped. I looked down at the floor, she looked at me apologetically and hugged me.

''I'm sorry, it's just, you know I don't want to be a vampire.'' She started to cry, I knew she didn't want to be a vampire, this is the thing she feared the most.

''Don't worry, I'll help you through it. Just like you helped me.'' I promised her.

''Thank you.' Elena smiled and then she started to look around. ''Where's Matt?''

''He's in the hospital,'' Jeremy told her, Elena's eyes widen in shock. ''Don't worry he's fine.'' Jeremy added.

''I need to go see him.'' Elena demanded before trying to run out, but Stefan grabbed her arm, stopping her.

''No, you need to rest, we will go later.'' Stefan told her. Jeremy then takes Elena upstairs, so she can get some rest.
