Itachi and you had always been close friends since childhood and because of this, you were used to how quiet and mysterious he'd come off as because you personally knew just how sweet of a person he could sometimes be. Ever since his parents had died, he had been stuck struggling to raise his younger brother who you were aware deeply despised him. You never attempted to involve yourself with that whole mess and you often chose not to stick around whenever a fight would breakout between the two of you—but other than that, things seemed to be just fine. It wasn't until high school though when you noticed a sudden change in Itachi, sure he was still kind and sweet towards you, but that didn't mean you weren't aware of how violent he had suddenly become over the years. In the beginning, you didn't think much of it and simply brushed it aside as a result of puberty.

He was still your friend and you knew by heart that nothing was going to change that fact...or at least that's what you thought. The day he came to your apartment with the intent on confessing something important to you was an awful day as he seemed to just bring with him an air of awkwardness. Neither one of you really spoke as you sat there on the couch side by side, barely paying attention to whatever was playing out on the television which served as nothing more than white noise meant to drive away the unbearable silence that had settled between the two of you. You couldn't help but shiver at the way your friend's ruby gaze seemed to just stare you down, drilling holes into the side of your skull as you refused to meet his gaze. You listened as he finally broke the silence, his voice soothing to hear, and you were certain that any woman's heart would have melted upon hearing such a smooth voice speaking directly towards them...but not yours.

You see, you were aromantic and not really interested in the thought of dating anyone—the mere thought of a relationship just didn't sound all that pleasing to you and if you were being honest, you'd much rather have a great friendship with someone then a relationship. So you can imagine how painfully awkward it had been as the air thickened the second Itachi confessed his love for you and asked you out, such words making you cringe with an apologetic look in your eyes.

"I'm sorry, Itachi...but..." you bit your lower lip before pulling your lips inward into a tight, thin line as you tried to go about this in a delicate way.

"But what?" your friend questioned, raising a slim eyebrow as his fists seemed to clench and unclench the longer he sat there and waited for you to speak.

"I just don't feel the same way that you do" you admitted as your gaze became downcast. "Look...I think it's best if you went home...I'll see you tomorrow at school" you mumbled, not daring to make eye contact with the man who stayed silent the entire time. His gaze only seemed to stare right past you, fingers now harshly gripping the fabric of his pants as his body seemed to just shake the slightest bit before suddenly he stood up and left—not uttering a single word to you as he did so and you couldn't help but wince the second you heard the front door slam shut behind him. Itachi felt as if something in his mind had suddenly snapped, dark thoughts swirling around inside his head as he quickly stormed his way down the steps and out of the apartment complex and for just a moment he felt the strong urge to just hit something, to just hit someone. He felt hurt by your rejection, having hoped that because the two of you have been friends since childhood then that meant you would accept his feelings. You weren't supposed to reject him like that—this wasn't how this was supposed to play out.

'She's just shy is all, yeah, she's just too shy to admit her true feelings for me' he suddenly and silently reassured himself as a crooked smile tugged at his lips. Already starting to conjure up all the little ways he could help you in overcoming that shyness of yours and admit that you truly did love him like he loved you.

-The Next Day-

You had been quick to take notice in the gray clouds that blocked out the sun the moment you arrived at school as well as the unsettling atmosphere that seemed to just hang in the air to the point that it made your stomach churn in worry that something was wrong. All too quickly though were you to brush off such feelings, chalking it all up to being nervous about seeing your friend today after the mess that was yesterday—you were strongly afraid that Itachi didn't want to be friends anymore after you rejected him. You were disheartened though when you entered homeroom and discovered that your friend was nowhere to be seen which did make sense, no one would get over their heart getting broken that quickly. Heaving a sigh, you silently assured yourself that once you made it through today you could always try and visit with him and talk things over, try to help him understand better why you rejected him and that it wasn't because of anything he did. But, as the day went on, you couldn't help the gut-wrenching feeling in your stomach that made you feel sick and feel like something was wrong.

Your nerves felt frayed as you nervously played with your hair, eyes constantly flickering up towards the clock as you waited for the last class of the day to come to an end. There was a strong part of you that for some reason felt like you were in danger and that you shouldn't allow yourself to be alone today, and though normally you would listen to your instincts...you couldn't help but to ridicule them this time because as far you could tell, there was no reason for you to feel this way. The moment you heard the bell ring and signal the end of the school day, you slowly stood up and gathered up your things, taking your time in getting everything ready before leaving the school—not rushing to get out of the building as quickly as possible like your fellow classmates were. By the time you did finally leave the school building, the parking lot was already nearly deserted of buses and the cars of students and even the sidewalk seemed to be strangely deserted as there wasn't a single soul out walking like usual. Though you had originally planned to go and check on Itachi, something inside you convinced you that it would be best to just head straight home.

You didn't get far though before halting in your tracks when you noticed Itachi a little ways ahead of you, his body leaned back against a building as his arms were crossed and his gaze was pointed down at the ground as if he was lost in thought. A shiver crawled up your spine the minute he suddenly looked your way, a certain look in his eyes that had your instincts screaming for you to turn and run, but instead of listening to said instincts you chose to approach him.

"Hey, Itachi" you nervously smiled as you came to a stop in front of him. "I didn't see you at school today, did something happen?" you asked, awkwardly shifting from foot to foot as you didn't receive an answer. "Look, I'm sorry about yesterday, okay" you finally sighed, eyes shifting downwards as the silence between the both of you seemed to just become too much for you to handle. Hesitantly peering back up at him to see what his reaction would be, you tensed up the moment you spotted the smile that tugged at his lips, it was a smile that held no warmth or kindness at all—it was nothing like the usual smiles he would give you.

"It's alright, I understand that you're just shy is all" Itachi said.

"What?" you frowned in confusion, not really understanding what he was trying to insinuate. "I'm not shy."

"Of course you are, I mean, that's clearly the only reason why you rejected me yesterday" he continued on, ignoring the way you raised an eyebrow before suddenly looking at him with pity in your eyes.

"Itachi, I already told you, I don't—" you were harshly cut off by the feeling of his lips roughly pressing against your own in a sloppy kiss as your body was suddenly pressed up against the wall of the building beside you two. You struggled against him, arms moving to harshly push against his chest, only becoming more desperate in your struggling the moment you felt your chest begin to tighten thanks to the lack of air your lungs were receiving. You gasped the moment he finally pulled away, greedily sucking in as much air as you could while ignoring the thin string of saliva that connected your twos lips. Weakly did you continue to try and push away from the raven-haired man, groaning at the bone-crushing hug he had you trapped in.

"There's no need to lie anymore, I know that you really do love me" he softly murmured into your ear as he dug around inside his back pocket and produced a rag which was still moist and damp. Pressing it tightly against your mouth and nose, he held you still while smiling to himself as he listened to the way you continued to fight against him, attempting to scream over the rag and it wasn't long before your movements started to become sluggish. The sweet scent that seeped off of the rag overtaking your senses and making you feel woozy before finally your eyes rolled into the back of your head and you lost consciousness. Itachi grinned when you went lax in his grip, no longer fighting against him and making it easier for him to simply pick you up so that he could carry you home. "Now that I have you my darling, I'll be sure to never let you go" he cooed down at you, lifting you up higher so that he could place a gentle kiss to your cheek, making it almost look like a loving boyfriend carrying his sleeping girlfriend home.

A/N: This is in a modern setting because I literally know nothing about Naruto or this character so I'm sorry if he's not accurate and this isn't good at all. My niece and nephew were the ones addicted to Naruto, I only saw bits and pieces of it but was never fully into it. So again I'm sorry if this is isn't good.
