It was going to be an long flight to Italy, Angelica thought. The twins were already beginning to feel restless. She just hoped she was making the right decision for her children. After all, she was barely on speaking terms with her mother and stepfather. After she claimed to not know who the father of her children was, she was as good as disowned. The only people to be there for her were Giselle and Gerard. Giselle took care of Lucas and Alyssa if she was busy and Gerard pulled strings to give her a decent job. Goes to show that blood isn't always thicker than water. Hew own mother turned her back on her.

The flight to Italy was uneventful. Angelica had a hard time sleeping even at a first class flight. The kids were always arguing or excited. She just hopes this wasn't going to cause negative effects to her kids. They were great kids, but being bullied for not having a father was taking its toll on them. Alyssa sometimes came home crying and Lucas was sometimes filled with bruises or scratches. Hopefully, the environment in the private school in Italy where she enrolled her kids is better.

When they arrived at the airport, the kids were excitedly looking around. "Angelica!" she heard her name being called. Alessandra di Angelo immediately ran towards her and gave her a bone crushing hug. "You look well," she complimented. Alyssa was holding on to her skirt while Lucas was holding on to his sister's hand. "Are these your kids? My, they have grown beautifully."

Angelica couldn't help but pray that Alessandra wouldn't see the resemblance. "Yes. The six years went by so fast," she can't help but say, staring at her children. "Kids, meet Miss di Angelo. She gave mommy her job. Say hi," she told her kids. "They're names are Alyssa and Lucas."

"Please, call me Zia Sandra," Alessandra said. What she said drained the color from Angelica's face. "Are you okay Angel?" my God! The last person who called her that was him. Angelica shook her head.

"It's nothing. Probably jet lag. I haven't been traveling often lately," she explained lamely. "I wasn't expecting it was you who was going to pick us up here."

"Well, your sister was worried. She said you haven't traveled out of the country with your kids. By the way, your boss, my brother, wants to meet his new secretary right away."

"Your brother is my boss?" Angelica asked incredulously. What cruel fate was this? She honestly thought she wouldn't see the man again. After all these years, why now?

"Yes, didn't I mention it?" Alessandra lifted Alyssa up in her arms, seeing as the little girl was sleepy. "Let's go." There was a chauffeur and a limo waiting for them at the outside. Alessandra instructed the young man to handle the luggage.

Angelica didn't question their destination. She might as well be heading to hell for all she cared. Lucas was sitting quietly beside her while Alyssa was snoring lightly on her neck. "So, where are we heading again? I'm sorry but isn't there anyway to postpone the meeting until later? We need to go to the house or apartment you got us to settle the kids."

Alessandra stared at her, mouth agape. "Giselle didn't tell you?"

All of a sudden, Angelica had a bad feeling. "Tell me what?" Alyssa snuggled closer to her neck as Lucas fell into a lying position as fatigue overcame him.

"You are going to live with my brother in his estate just outside Milan. He needs a live in secretary, my dear. With all his businesses, he needs someone on call. His day doesn't end at six like everybody else."

"But the kids..." she trailed off. How can she live under the same roof with her kids and their father who doesn't know about them? My God! What punishment is this, she thought.

"Do not worry, he doesn't mind that you have children. We already settled the children at one of the best international schools in Italy. I personally made the arrangements. And it is also the nearest one. They will be taken there by one of Luc's chauffeurs."
