Angelica's POV
When Luc and I entered the restaurant where we were to meet his friends and sister, I was greeted with fresh aroma of spaghetti sauce and homey feels. It was far from the snobby environment high end restaurants usually have. I immediately saw Sandra who was wrapped in the arms of dangerous looking man. All the men at the table were hot. There was no question of it. When Luc and I joined them at the table, I wondered what I was doing sitting with them.
"Wow. Are we to hear wedding bells soon, amico? Because if you brought her here, it must be serious." It was the man who had his arm around Sandra that spoke. He had jet black hair and his eyes were almost as dark as his hair.
Sandra removed his arm around her and gestured to the chair beside her to me. I thought it was best to keep my mouth shut and accepted the offered seat. Luc sat next to his friends who slapped him in the back as if congratulating him.
I took a sip of the proffered drink even though I had no idea what it was. "She's my secretary," he said as an explanation to my presence.
I noticed the teasing grin on the other man's face. "So she's not your woman?" Luc didn't bother dignifying the question with an answer. He didn't even shake his head to say no. Obviously, the med were just baiting him. "If that is the case then you wouldn't mind me trying my luck with her?" Before either of us could realize what he was going to do, the man stood up and went to me. He took my hand and kissed the back of it. "Señorita, I am Juan Marco de Alvarado. It is a pleasure to meet your acquaintance."
"Ahhhh..." I was literally rendered speechless. I heard, back when I was still a model years ago, that his friends were another Italian tycoon and Spanish nobility. And by the way he addressed me and his accent, I can tell he's the Spanish one. How does one discourage nobility gracefully?
I caught Luc's glare at us. A vein in his jaw was ticking. And the knuckles holding his glass was white with tension. "She is not to be one of your women Marco. Get away from her," Luc said menacingly. I was flattered at the protection. I am not going to be a hypocrite about this. Had he not stepped in, I wouldn't have known what to do. Yes, my mother married into money. My stepsiblings are a tycoon and a legendary model. But compared to this titled people, we might as well have been peasants. "Besides, she already has a family."
"You are married Señorita?" I shook my head in denial. My goodness, doesn't this man know how to give up?
Before I could explain Luc's statement, Sandra already beat mo to it. "No but she already has children Marco. So she's not available. And she is Giselle's sister." For some reason I was the only one not aware of, Juan Marco paled. He must have a history with my sister.
The way she said it was galling but I didn't bother contradicting or opposing her. There was no point. I wasn't looking for a relationship. Not now. Not ever. Especially not in front of the clueless father of my children. And especially not with his close friend.
