Suddenly a blue laser shot out from the tree line and hit the figure in the back. The figure went flying across the field and landed with a thud on the hard ground. A man wearing futuristic armour ran into the clearing. "You leave him alone you shapeshifter!","better run away before I turn you into a kabab!",he said drawing his sword from his scabbard. The monster replied "you don't know what your kind is in for", and after saying that, the figure turned into mist. When the mist cleared, the creature was nowhere to be seen."Who are you, what's going on?"shouted Jake. The person looked at him with a blank expression on his face, then a light of understanding lit up his eyes. This stranger had plain white hair and blue eyes, he looked about 14 yet he had three red stripes on his left shoulder. "What do those stripes mean?"Jake asked with an innocent look."These stripes mean I am a captain of a squad, as for your question about my name, my friends call me Ash Hawks". "As I said before what's going on!" Insisted Jake. "Listen, I would just love to stand around and answer all of your questions, but we really have to go". "And where abouts are you taking me?"asked Jake. "To the camp", Ash answered simply. "What about him?" Jake said pointing to Robbie. "He can come too, but we will have to carry him" said Ash. We put Robbie I between us, one arm over Ash, and one arm over me. And together they trudged through the mud, out of the open, and into the tree line. We walked on for another hour and a half before we stopped at a clearing deep in the forest. "I think it is time to set up camp for the night" Ash said setting Robbie against a log."You never know what monsters may be hiding in the shadows". "I will start chopping firewood for the campfire, you make the tent". Jake looked around the clearing with a helpless expression on his face."And how am I supposed to do that?". Ash looked at him, then sighed."Use this". Ash threw Jake a metal ball, Jake caught it and looked at the strange metal object. "This is not a tent?" Jake said blankly. "Press the green Botton then throw it away from you", answered Ash. Jake pushed the green Button on the top of the contraption and thew it down on the ground away from him, just as instructed. The ball made a hissing noise on the ground and it suddenly sprang into the air and instantly folded into a two person tent."You won't be needing that" said a new voice from behind them. 'THUD', an arrow sailed and slammed into the tent tearing a big hole in the fabric. Jake yelped and reeled back in surprise, Ash quickly drew his sword and looked around to see where the arrow had come from. Ash turned his head to a dark figure holding a bow, hidden beneath the shade of a pine tree. "Who are you!" Commanded Ash. "My name is Annabelle Grey"said the stranger. Then the stranger slowly walked into the light...the figure was a girl. Jakes jaw dropped when he saw how beautiful she was. She had flowing blonde hair with grey eyes, and she was really good with a bow. "What are you looking at!" she snapped at Jake. "Listen Annabelle, take it easy on him he's a new guy". Ash snapped back. "Well how was I supposed to know that!" Spat Annabelle. "Well, we better get to camp" said Ash. Annabelle said nothing, but just nodded agreement, so together they started walking. An hour latter they arrived outside of camp. Jake gasped when he saw the sheer beauty and size of the camp walls. The camp walls were made of plain white marble, and the walls where about seven meters high. The one entrance had marble columns either side of the black gate. On the battlements there was solders patrolling the walls, they walked down to the end and then walked back to the centre, then they started the cycle all over again. On the left side of the wall the solders were wearing roman styled armour with red feathered plumes on their helmets and swords in their scabbards. On the right the solders were wearing full titanium looking armour, they also carried guns. When the solders met in the centre they did not stop and talk, in fact there was no sounds at all besides the squeezing of their boots on the marble. All the solders did was blankly stare at each other then walk away down the battlements. The silence was to intense and harsh it made Jake want to speak a lot to break the silence. When they got to the gate a man in a grey uniform stepped forward "who has had their scan", he asked the three of them. Annabelle and Ash put their hands up, Jake did not. "You need a scan?" The man asked Jake, Jake nodded. "Walk beneath that black doorframe" said the man. Jake walked up to the doorframe and studied it. It was not really a doorframe at all it was a machine with two monitors on either side of it. Jake slowly walked beneath the doorframe. There was a click noise and the monitors sprang to life. On the left screen there was a picture of a wolf head, on the right a picture of a scorpion. Beneath the pictures was an empty percentage symbol. "Just wait a moment while the data comes through" said the man. "This scan determine which side you join" explained Annabelle. "You can either join the wolves, that's the one I'm in, or the scorpions, that's the one Ash is in." "Oh" said Jake. "Percentages coming through!" The man announced. Everyone's heads swung to face the monitors. The percentages slowly rose. For the wolves the percent went 1%... 20%. For the scorpions it was the same. As the percentages stopped everyone gasped. The percentages were 50% 50%.
