Usually everyday after homeroom I would hang around with Bryan. It's usually okay if I'm late to my next class, because he can just write me a pass. Both me and him tal and stuff. We also laugh...alot, and stuff. And we...and stuff. LOL. But most of the time we just talk.
"How's your mom doing?" he asked.
I made a little sigh towards his question.
"She's doing a little bit better. She's able to move around the house by herself a little bit more, but my dad always tells her to stay still. He's afraid of what could happen if she does too much movement."
"That sounds like the stuff my mom used to tell me when I would always get into trouble, she'd tell me to just sit my ass down somewhere."
We both laugh together.
"I'm serious," he says still laughing,"but serious talk, how are you Tina?"
"What do you mean?" I ask kind of confused.
"What's happening in your life?" he asks.
"Everything that's happening in my life you already know about" I say.
"Yes, that's true, but I want you to tell me how your life is."
I was so totally confused as to what he was saying.
"I'm fine Bryan."
"That's good to hear, but are you sure there's nothing you want to tell me."
He keeps on pushing this topic, and I don't know what it is.
"Is there something you want to talk about?" I ask him.
"Is there something you want to talk to me about?" he asks with a curious face.
"What the hell Bryan! Just tell me what's going through your mind. Please!"
I hate that indirect shit. If there is something a person wants to talk about I would rather them beat around the bush and tell me. It is way less stressful when people get straight to the point. Otherwise, why say anything at all?
"Well, I heard from a little birdie that you had some type of encounter the other day. In a parking lot to be exact" he said.
Oh shit. I looked at him a little surprised as he looked at me with concern and a little bit of anger. I can tell he is offended that I did not tell him about the incident with Kevin. Frankly I kind of forgot about it myself.
"Who told you about that?" I asked him.
"It doesn't matter where I heard it from," he says moving closer to me,"what matters is that you didn't tell me that asswhole was stalking you."
"What do you mean stalking?"
"He's been trying to get in touch with you for how long now?" he says.
I look down, because there's no point in telling him. He already knows the answer to his own question. Damn him. My silence answers his question and I just decided to keep it at that.
"Uh huh," he says.
"I didn't think that it was that big of a deal. I mean...I know it was but...but I didn't think he would actually come looking for me."
"Well I guess we know now" he says in a tone.
I can tell that he is starting to get upset by the news he heard. But what makes it worse is that I didn't tell him. I got up and walked closer to him. He looked at me as I sat on his lap and wrapped my arms around his shoulders and neck.
"I'm sorry" I whispered into his neck.
He sat still for a moment or two, and then he relaxed. I could feel the movement of his body to his breathing. He embraced me too and rubbed his nose and face in my long hair.
"I just want to know everything that happens Tina. You have to understand that." he said sincerely.
And I did. I just know how things could get if Kevin were to be provoked. I would rather take all of the pain he would inflict just to keep Bryan out of harms way. It should not have to involve him. I should not.
