Me and Brandy were hanging out after school around 3:00 pm. She was telling me how this kid busted his ass running in the hallway.
"So we were all standing in the hallway where all of the juniors lockers are at," she started to say," and these two freshman were turning the corner running. Well one of them turned the corner too fast I guess and all you heard was a sneaker screech. So we all turned our heads to look. All we saw was this kid slam dead ass on his face. We were all like DAMN!!!"
I was laughing my ass off. I wish was there to see it. Just as she was going more into the story my phone rang. It was from my mom.
"Hello" I said.
"Tina. It's mom. I need you to come home. It's important"
"Is everything okay?"
She sounded very serious. I started to get worried.
"...just come home."
After she said those words she hung up.
"Brandy I gotta go!" was all I said while I was running half way down the block.
"Woah. Where's the fire?" Brandy said.
"I'll tell you later."
I kept running and running until I got to the front steps of my house. I practically bursted through the front door. I saw both of my parents sitting in the living room. My mom was sitting down hanging her head. My dad was standing right next to her rubbing her shoulders in some sort of way to comfort her.
"Oh my god. What's wrong?" was all I was able to say.
My mom looked up and her eyes were blood shot red. Her hair was kind of messed up and she was very pale.
"Have a seat honey. We need to tell you something." was what she said to me.
I sat down very, very slowly. I didn't know what to expect. Was she pregnant? Were we moving? Did someone die? She looked at me dead in the face and said the very words that would haunt me.
"Tina....my breast cancer is back."
