'Yeah, he said I could go home early, so I've just got in the door'
Beca was talking to her mother on the phone as she made her way into her lounge. The sudden noise startled Chloe, who was still in her bedroom. Just as she tried to think of a place to hide, Beca had stumbled in and nearly had a heart attack.
'Oh fucking hell!', she shouted, almost collapsing from the scare, 'Sorry- I'll ring you back'
As Beca recovered from the shock, she noticed the familiar piece of paper in her friend's hand. Her face dropped.
'Surprise', Chloe smiled weakly.
Beca attempted to reply, but she was interrupted.
'You wrote that I should tell you if I ever fall in love with you again...why would I do that?'
The brunette averted her gaze out of embarrassment.
'I uh...wrote that when we had only just fallen out. At the time I thought...that maybe there would be another chance for us...', Beca said awkwardly.
'We always said that we'd love each other forever though, so why would I tell you if I fell in love again?'
'That's a different kind of love. Now you love me like a good friend because we've been through things together...You kind of have to love me', Beca told her.
'I don't love you like a good friend. I love you...like I...', Chloe couldn't find the words to say.
'You mean everything to me, you sarcastic, cynical...girl who thinks she's a badass but actually has a heart of gold', Chloe exclaimed intensely.
'You mean everything to me t-', Beca tried to reply.
'And when you turned away from me at the airport last week, it was like when you said goodbye to me in my bedroom, and that reminded me of when you turned away from me at Aubrey's camp'
Chloe was starting to cry angrily, and all the brunette could do was watch.
'I don't love you like a "good friend"', the redhead said, emphasising using air quotes, 'I love you like I want to be with you, Beca'
Beca met her eyes, seeing how red they were.
'Are you asking me back?'
'No', Chloe replied.
'Well then what are you say-'
'I'm begging you back'
Beca paced over to her friend and embraced her tightly.
'You'd never have to beg me. I've been waiting for this for like, forever'
Chloe cried on her shoulder while Beca swayed gently side-to-side, smoothing a hand on her red hair. Tears were now falling from the DJ's eyes too, but she tried not to make it obvious.
'I never want to say goodbye to you ever again, Chlo', Beca whispered.
Chloe pulled back from the hug to look into her friend's eyes.
'Then don't'
Beca cupped her face with both hands, and brought hers closer until they were touching noses.
Before they realised it, they were kissing- passionately and desperately. After a minute of kissing, they held each other as if they were holding onto dear life; they were crying, emotional messes.
'Do you love me?', Chloe asked.
'Of course I do. Do you love me?'
'I love you, Beca Mitchell, you total, utter weirdo'
