It was Wednesday night- about 10pm- and Chloe was watching a play with a few friends from work. Meanwhile, Beca had just finished her shift at the radio station, and had arrived at home.

-Interval time. It's sooooo amazing! I wish you were here x-

Beca smiled at the message from Chloe, then typed back a reply:

-Glad you're having fun. Don't drink too much- it's a school night ;) x-

After pressing send, the DJ headed to the bathroom to shower; as she showered, the play Chloe was watching continued.

'I still haven't sung with her in here', Beca said aloud to herself, 'That shall be arranged'

Beca lathered herself in soap as she performed a rendition of 'Clarity' by Zedd.
-------------------------
'Let's get you on', Beca spoke to the fireplace, lighting a fire an hour later.

She rubbed her hands together above the flames, and felt the warmth eminating in her fingertips.
Once she was satisfied she was warm enough, she sauntered over to the sofa, where a blanket, some headphones, and a laptop lay.

Slipping under the plaid blanket and putting the pair of headphones on, she started to work on a new playlist. It was electric and energetic- basically the complete opposite of what Beca was feeling. She was fighting back the yawns that kept rising up because she wanted to see Chloe when she got home.
She checked her phone to see if the redhead had messaged to say she was in the taxi coming home, but there were no messages. Deciding to leave it for ten minutes or so before sending a text to the girl, she threw herself back into her music.
------------------------------------
Thirty minutes had soon passed without Beca realising- it was the sound of the phone that awoke her from her musical coma.

'Hello?'

'Hey, this is Beca, right?', the stranger's voice asked.

'Yeah...Who is this?'

'I'm Chloe's friend, Hannah. Um, Chloe needs to be picked up- she's a bit upset, and I think it would be best if she went home with you'

'Why's she upset? Is she okay?', the brunette felt herself beginning to panic.

'She's fine, there's just been a bit of an...incident', Hannah answered, 'So could you pick her up as soon as possible?'

'Yeah, fine. Text me where you're at? Oh god'

Beca hung up the phone, feeling confused and stressed. Getting off the sofa, she ran upstairs, chucked on a pair of jeans and a jumper over her PJs, then grabbed her keys and left the house.
-----------------------------------------
After a twenty minute drive, Beca pulled up to the meeting destination. Quickly, she got out of the car to see a crying Chloe being comforted by a group of girls.
She rushed over towards the huddle, and before she could even say anything, Chloe latched onto her with a tight embrace.

'Okay, okay', the DJ said softly, 'Let's get you home'

Beca mouthed a thank you to the girls, then took the ginger back to her car.
For most of the journey home, Beca left a hand on Chloe's leg, and let her cry. She didn't want to ask her what was wrong until they were warm and safe, in the comfort of their own home.
-----------
After arriving at the house, Beca immediately went to the kitchen to make a hot chocolate for them both. Chloe was less upset now, and was sitting on the sofa with the plaid blanket laying on her lap. The brunette handed her the hot chocolate, then sat next to her.

'What's wrong, babe?'

'I...I got pushed over...by a drunk person on the way to the taxi...they didn't mean it'
