The Right Time

Chapter Forty Seven

Beca had been working on her laptop for hours. She was hypnotised by the screen and the music coming through her headphones, and didn't realise what the time was. An hour ago, she told Chloe that she was coming up to bed, but she never materialised- remaining glued to the sofa instead.

'Babe?'

Chloe had crept down the stairs into the living room. Lovingly, she draped her arms around the DJ's neck from behind the sofa.

'Are you coming up to bed yet?', she continued to say, giving her a kiss on the back of the head.

'What time is it?', Beca yawned. Her eyes felt fuzzy and sore, so she rubbed at them with her palms.

'Late enough'

Taking her time to stretch her legs and arms out, Beca slowly got up from her seat and switched off her laptop. Next, she placed the laptop under her arm and walked around the sofa to give Chloe a half-hug.

'You shouldn't work so late, Becs', Chloe said gingerly.

'I know- you keep reminding me...I just want to finish what I'm working on'

'I'm sure it's not more important than sleeping'

'I'm sure you're right', Beca sighed from tiredness.

Promptly, the girls headed upstairs to get ready for bed. Once they were cosy and comfortable under the sheets, Beca acted as the 'big spoon', and Chloe, the 'little spoon'. The brunette was very nearly falling asleep, but purposely kept herself awake to enjoy the cuddling, (not that Chloe was aware of this fact).

'I spoke to Emily today', the redhead told her.

'How is she?'

'Great! She asked if she could come and visit, so I invited her to stay over next weekend. Is that okay?'

'Ugh, no it's not...'

'Why is it not okay?', Chloe whimpered, looking disappointed.

'I'm kidding- that's fine', Beca laughed quietly to herself, 'Isn't Sam coming over though?'

'I thought they'd get along really well, so Sam is still coming over'

Sam, a young blonde, was one of Chloe's friends from work. She was just a couple of years older than Emily, and had a very similar personality to her.

'Okay, cool'

'Sleepy?', Chloe asked.

'Sleepy', Beca confirmed.

'Kisses?'

The brunette craned her neck slightly to cover her girlfriend's cheek in sweet kisses, making her melt into giggles.

'Goodnight, Chlo'

The weekend had arrived. Sam, Chloe's friend, was at the house unpacking her bags in the spare room.

'Thanks for inviting me over', the girl said to Chloe.

'No need to thank me!'

'Thank me instead', Beca retorted as she entered the room, putting her arm around her girlfriend.

The blonde smirked at the remark, then cheerily asked, 'So when is Emily getting here? I'm super excited to meet her!'

'She should be here any minute now'

And just like that, a text came through on Chloe's phone.

-I'm here!!-

Barely giving anyone a chance to open the door, Emily charged into the house like an excitable puppy. She bounded over to Chloe, who gave her a tight, bear hug and lots of little kisses on her forehead, and after, she found Beca, who also gave her a tight squeeze of a hug.
