Go Time

"Are ya sure you want to do this?" Tennoji asked.

"Nope, but what other option do we have?" I asked. We were walking to Tres Spades and Tennoji is still trying to talk me out of it.

"There are tons of other options," Tennoji argues.

"Yeah but none that will allow us to investigate this quickly," I countered." Besides it's not like I'm going in alone I have all the information we gathered memorized and I know there is a possibility of the mafia being involved."

"That's why I'm saying you should hang back," he protests.

"The longer we hang back and wait for a different method of investigating, the more chances the perp will hear about the investigation which will give them enough time to cover up their tracks," I stated stopping and turning to him. We were now a few yards away from the hotel entrance.

"But..." he started but I cut him off.

"If there were any other option I would go with that one instead, but this is the only way," I say while looking him in the eyes. "I'll always have my cellphone on and with me and not to mention I have a black belt in Judo."

"...Yeah I know,"he sighs,"but that doesn't mean I can't worry about you from a boyfriend perspective."

"Yeah, but you need to think about the investigation and what good would you do if were busy worrying about me," I stated trying to diffuse the situation.

"...I know," he says after a slight hesitation," just don't do anything reckless."

"When have I ever done anything reckless?" I questioned.

"Now ya got me all worried again," he states.

"Fine I promise I won't do anything reckless,"I say.

"Good,"he says with a smile on his face.

"Unless it is necessary," I mumbled.

"What...?" he asks.

"Nothing," I reply,"Gotta go bye!"

"Wait..!"he calls out to me.

"What?" I ask and turn around. He gives me a peck on the lips.

"Good luck," he says and walks off leaving me standing there blushing. I look down at my phone and it reads 7:55 which means I only have five minutes to get to the managers office and get my uniform. "Shoot.." I say under my breath and run towards the hotel.

*Time Skip to morning meeting*

"Good morning everyone,"Mr. Kenzaki.

"Good morning Mr. Kenzaki," we all said.

" Today we have some one new," Mr. Kenzaki said," Jess will you like to introduce yourself."

I stepped forward and introduced myself. "Hi everybody, my name is Jess Frost and I look forward to working with you all."

"O.K, Jess you will be pairing up with Liv so she can show you the ropes," Mr. Kenzaki said.

"Yes, Mr Kenzaki," I said.

" Is that O.K with you Liv?" he asked a girl that looked around the same age as me and had brown hair.

"Yes Mr. Kenzaki," Liv answered.

"That's the end of the meeting time to get to work," Mr. Kenzaki said and everyone dispersed. So far so good I thought to myself. I walked up to Liv.

" Hi," I say with a smile,"I hope we can be great friends."

" Yeah me to," she says extending her hand for a handshake. I stand there for a few moments fidgeting before I take her hand and give her a light handshake.

" Soo... what's first on the agenda?" I ask to get rid of the awkwardness.

"We clean rooms 10B, 10C,10D, 11H,11I, and 11J and then we have to start setting up for the next I.V.C," she answers.

" Wow that's a lot for just two people we better get started," I say while heading towards the door with her following behind. " Hey I didn't catch your last name."

"It's Mose, Liv Mose," she answers.

"Mose.." I mumble. That name seems familiar but I can't place it which frustrates me because I'm really good with names and faces.

"Did you say something?" she asks.

"Nope, nothing," I reply."Let's get to work."

*Time Skip to end of the day*

"Good work today Jess," Liv says before she goes into her apartment.

"You to," I say and go into my new home for the next few weeks. "Ugh.." I groan and flop down onto my bed.

*Ring*Ring*Ring*

My cellphone goes off. " Hello," I mumble into the speaker.

"Hey it's me," I hear Tennoji's voice on the other line." I was just calling to see how your first day went."

"It was fine but it was so tiring," I answer.

"I can tell your mumbling into your phone," he says laughing.

"You would be to if you had to endure what I had to go through today," I pout even though he can't see that I'm pouting. "But on the bright side I got to eat all the food I wanted to at lunch and it was very cheap so I'm happy about that."

"Just tried not to get fired for eating all their before you at least get information about these auctions happening over there," he states.

"Again with the food joke,"I mumble.

"Yes," he says. "I'll talk to you later, get your sleep."

"O.K love you," I say.

"Love you to," he says back and the phone goes dead. I get up and change into my PJ's with the little energy I have left and remove my make-up before crawling into bed and instantly falling asleep.
