Becoming Friends

*Jess's POV*
The next day I woke up at five thirty A.M slightly confused of where I was until I remembered the investigation and that I was staying at the hotel dormitories.

*knock*knock*

"Jess wake up we gotta go or we'll be late for work!!" Liv knocks on the door. I knew I had to but I didn't want to.

"Just a few more minutes Liv!" I call back snuggling back under my covers

*band*bang*

"You can't or you'll be late on your first official day!" The knocking turns to banging.

"Ok ok I'm getting up," I throw my covers up and unlock the door.

"Finally," she walks in," now go get dressed or we'll be late."

"Do we always have to get up this early?" I ask while looking through my clothes.

"Yes and if you don't get used to it, life here is going to be very tough," she says," believe me I was exactly like you my first few days."

"Does it get any easier?" I ask now applying light makeup.

"After about a week it does," she shrugs.

"Ok I'm ready to go," I grab a jacket and walk out the door.

She follows behind me locking the door,"Finally we better hurry or we're not going to make it to the morning meeting," she starts jogging to the hotel.

"Hey wait up!" I  chase after her.

*After morning meeting*

When the morning meeting is over three maids come up to us. I think the one with the brown hair was named Erica, but I can't remember the other two who look exactly alike.

"Liv! what happened this morning you were almost late for work!?" Erica starts yelling at Liv completely ignoring me.

"Late for work!" The twins mimic.

"I'm sorry Erica," Liv  bows her head.

" I mean it's not like your new here, you should know the ropes by now," Erica says.

"Ropes by now," the twins repeat.

At this point I find that I should step in a save Liv since it was mostly my fault that we were almost late, " Excuse me, it wasn't Liv's fault she was just looking out for me since I'm new here and don't really know my way around."

For the first time Erica finally's notices me "Well I let you go this time since she was helping you out but the next time I won't be so easy."

"Won't be so easy," the twins repeat which was starting to get annoying. And with that they left, leaving me and Liv standing there awkwardly.

"You just made an enemy," Liv says.

I shrug," Yeah but I couldn't leave you fending for yourself when it was all my fault."

"I'm used to it, and thanks for standing up to her on my account," she smiles while bowing her head.

" Don't mention it," I smile back,"all in a day's work."

" Ok let's get to work," she says.

"Another full schedule like yesterday?" I really hope it isn't.

"Luckily no we only need to do a rooms today they already have enough staff members for the I.V.C today," she says.

"Thank god yesterday I thought I would die," I mumble resulting in her giggling.

"Hehe yeah it's usually not that bad," she says through the giggles.

"Let's get started then," I start walking to the elevator.

*buzz*buzz*

Then something vibrates in her pocket and she pulls out a pager.

"Can you get started by yourself I gotta go," she  runs off towards the VIP elevator not even giving me a chance to answer.

"Yeah ok whatever," I mumble slightly taken back.

" There she goes up to the penthouse again," I hear a voice from behind me.

"Who are you?" I ask.

"Oh that's right you new I'm Chisato another maid and one of Liv's friends," she holds out her hand.

"Nice to meet you I'm Jess," I introduce myself why taking her hand. "What were you saying about her always going up to the penthouse?"

"Oh her boyfriend is a VIP that is staying in the penthouse along with a few other VIPs," a new voice answers my question.

"Sakiko you should've let Liv tell her that," Chisato scolds.

"Liv would've never told her that," Sakiko shrugs.

"True, true," Chisato agrees

" Hi am Sakiko," she introduces herself, "sorry about the outburst about Liv's personal life but she was never going to tell you, she didn't even tell us until a month ago."

"That's O.K, but it's weird that she still works at the hotel when her boyfriend is a VIP staying here," I comment slightly baffled," I mean how did they meet?" Maybe there's something more there, then I scold myself, stop thinking everything is suspicious, she must really like her job and meant him somehow on the job.

"Yeah, but she likes working here so I guess she doesn't really mind," Sakiko laughs confirming what I was thinking.

"And we don't really know how they meant him," Chisato says,"Ok we better get to work or else we're going to get in trouble, come on Jess your with me."

"Ok, bye Sakiko see you later," I wave and follow Chisato for work.

"Bye, see you at lunch," Sakiko waves back before going to her own work.
