The Bidders

Darkness is all I know. I don't know how long I've been swimming in this space, how long have I been out. Something horrible is just beyond the horizon. I need to wake up and help Soryu and everybody else face it. But I'm so tired, my body feels like lead. I sense when Sor is here, there's a shift, he is almost always at my right side, holding my hand.

I get snippets of what the Bidders are planning. A new hotel, chasing Kent, police investigation stalled. But that's all I can gather before I'm submerged back into the darkness, it drags me back under. I try to fight, I need to know what Sor is saying so I can be ready once I'm awake.

Darkness is all I know. I'm so tired, maybe a few more minutes of rest and then I'll wake up ready to help, ready to move on from this incident, stronger than before.

*Soryu's POV *

It's been a week since the incident. A week has passed since Liv went into a coma. A week since that bastard escaped police custody, he's been on the run since. Those detectives looked for three days before they called it off, "couldn't waste their resources on a ghost" is what the news reported. Ice Dragons don't have that luxury, ever since he escaped I have had every available resource finishing off Kent's group and gathering information on his next move.

He's planning on leaving for Dubai in the next few weeks.

Dubai, a territory the Ice Dragons just claimed, the territory where Kent will lose his life.

I look down at Liv stroking her hair, "we'll get him, and you'll be with us when we do."

The preparations have been made, as soon as Kent moves we move with him. Eisuke also is readying the grand opening of the new Tres Spades in Dubai, which will give us a perfect cover to leave the country.

I take Liv's hand, you just need to wake up so we can safely take you with us.

We'll be safe then. Safe from that police investigation that is still ongoing. Until it is officially closed we won't be safe, once we're out of the country it will happen naturally and without any of the more unsavory tactics needed.

She just needs to wake up. The sooner she wakes up, the sooner she can recover, the sooner we can leave and be safe.

"Please Liv, just wake up, open your beautiful eyes," whispering to an empty room, to a person who can barely hear me, how much she has changed me in these years that I've known her, in the years that I have loved her.

"Hmm"

"..Liv?"

"..."

Steady even breathing is all I get in response. But there was a change, she's pulling herself out. It won't be long now.

*Liv's POV*

There's a stir, I know it won't be long before I wake up, I just hope it was in time. In time to face the rest of the storm.

So little time before the eye of the storm is gone, and the calm that came with it.

"Hmm."

Light shines in through the window as I open my eyes.

Finally.

I look to the side and see Soryu there, soft asleep. He looks like he hasn't slept in days. He probably hasn't.

I'm sorry.

For worrying you, for getting kidnapped and injured.

Logically I know none of this was my fault, the Tres Spades was supposed to be the safest place for everyone. But it still hurts seeing him so frayed, so burned out.
