Words of the Wise

*Liv's POV*

"Mm..."I slowly wake up in the middle of the night to see Soryu putting on his jacket."Where are you going?" I ask sitting up.

"Just a little scuffle between a rival group," he answers,"nothing to worry about."

"Just don't get hurt," I say and sink back down into the covers.

"I'll be back by the time you come and clean the penthouse today," he says giving me a kiss on the cheek.

"OK, see ya later," I say as he walks out the door. After that I fall into a deep sleep.

*Dream*

"Liv where are you?" hear my friend call from my hiding spot. "Liv come on I'm hungry."

*grumble*

My stomach grumbles when she says that. "Say that I'm better than you at Hide n Seek and I'll come out," I say.

"Fine I'm better than you at Hide n Seek," she says.

"That's not what I meant," I say.

"Fine just out of fairness to my stomach I'll say it," she says,"your better at Hide n Seek than I am."

"Finally," I say coming out of my hiding spot," even if you wouldn't had said it I would have still come out because I'm hungry to."

"..." she stays silent and glares at me. I take this as a sign to start running."Oh no you don't," she says and starts chasing after me.

"You'll never catch me," I say as I run into my backyard.

"I'm not trying to catch you," she says,"I just wanted food."

"Is that all you think about?" I turn around and ask from the porch.

"No, it's not all I think about," she replies,"it's just what I'm thinking about right now."

"OK, I smell food let's go," I say walking into the kitchen.

"Now you're speaking my language," she says following behind me.

*End of Dream*

I wake up and see that I have a half an hour before work so I decide to take a shower. I think back on the dream I had and smile, what a nice dream I think to my self. I look over at the clock and see that I've been in the shower for fifteen minutes,time to get out and get ready. When I'm done getting dressed I head over to Ota's suite to wake Jess. I don't bother knocking in fear of waking Ota.

"Jess..." I whisper while peaking into the bedroom. I don't get any response so I try again,"Jess..." she just turns over in her sleep. i roll my eyes and go over to her,"we're going to be late for work," I whisper while pulling the covers off her.

"Mm..." she turns over and curls into a ball.

"Grr..you left me no choice," I whisper. I go out into the kitchen and fill up a cup of water and bring it back into the room. You left me no choice I think before I slowly tilt the cup over her head.

That gets her up,"I'm up! I'm up," she says sitting straight up.

"Finally," I say putting the cup down.

She then takes a moment to get used to her surroundings and then feels her wet hair. "Did you pour water on me?" She asks.

"Well you weren't getting up and I have to be quit because Ota is a grump when woken up," I reply .

"..." She stays silent but shoots me a glare.

"Will you two just shut up," a voice from behind me says. Uh oh I think before slowly turning around.

"Sorry Ota just go back to bed," I quickly apologize," come on Jess we gotta go to work."

"Ugh, fine," she says getting out of bed.

"You have ten minutes," I say,"also don't forget the pager or the keycard."

"How did you know he gave me one?" She asks while heading into the bathroom to get change.

"It's Ota he's gonna wanna contact you sometimes during work," I say laughing.

"How do you know?" She asks.

"Cause he contacts me sometime even though I'm Soryu's girlfriend," I say.

"Must be rough dating a mobster," she says.

I tense at this and ask,"How did you find out?"

"He had a gun and guns are illegal in Japan," she states.

"He doesn't do anything bad," I say.

"But he's in the mafia," she counters.

"Just because your in the mafia doesn't automatically make you a bad person," I say making her think for a second.

"...I guess your right," she says choosing her words carefully.

I look down out my watch," You better hurry you only have five minutes left."

"Almost done," she says,"ok let's go."

"Off to work," I say while silently relieved that things aren't awkward between us because of the auctions.

"Another day filled with serving the rich and famous," she mumbles.

"Sometimes it's fun when their nice and then other times..."I trail off.

"It's like you wanna strangle them," she says finishing for me.

"Exactly!" I say laughing and then I apologize," sorry about the water thing."

"Don't worry about it I probably would've done the same thing in that situation," she says laughing as we get onto the elevator.

"Yeah especially since you had a room mate like Ota," I say laughing along with her.

"He so different  in the morning," she says.

"Yeah he is definitely not a morning person," I say.

"Many people aren't," she says,"there are only a few that I can think of that actually like being up in the morning."

"Yeah and I'm guessing you aren't one of them," I say starting to laugh again.

"That is true," she says,"even though I'm required to for my job."

"You'll get used to it everyone does," I say.

*Ding*

"Oh look we might actually be on time today," she says as we step out of the elevator and head towards the changing rooms.

"See just a few more days and you'll be able to do this without me," I say.

"I'm progressing," she says happily.

"See now let's get started," I say as we walk into the changing room.
