Starlight 2: Making The Impossible Possible

11: The Mermaid Lagoon

RICH'S POV

After following the directions of the map, I finally arrived at a Cove. I went right in the middle of this curve. As I looked up I saw a huge lantern or a light house. I remembered from last time that mermaids come out when there is a kind of light.

I got of the long boat and ran up the spiral staircase, with my blood rushing through my veins. I was scared. Mermaids eat humans to live.

I took a stick and done my little trick and lit up the light house and pointed it at where I wanted to sail, right in the middle of the Cove.

I ran back down and jumped into the longboat and went to the lit part.

Why am I doing this? For a mermaid. But she could eat me. She might not even be here. No. I will stay here.

I start singing
"Yo ho, yo ho, a Pirate's life for me,
We pillage we plunder, we rifle and loot"

I keep on singing with a trembling voice, and sing the song slower.

After some time I look into the sky and see that's it's darker than before. How long have I been here?? But I still carry singing.

I hear a slight splash, and turn around amediately. And what I see is a beautiful girl. She has blonde hair, aqua blue eyes and a pretty smile.

"I heard you Sing" she says. That voice is just beautiful.
I nod
"You Sing beautifully" she says and smiles. I keep on staring into her eyes. And I shake my head, remembering why I came in the first place.
"Im sorry but do you know....Starlight?" I ask sheepishly
"Yes, she's our sister" she says calmly
"Would I be able to see her?"
"Why her? I am here" Ok this is getting a little to far.
"Well I want to talk to Starlight"
"Hush, just listen" she says as she reaches to hold my chin and we are only like a couple of inches away.

"My heart is pierced by cupid
I disdain all glittering gold
There is nothing that can Console me
But my jolly sailor bold "

She kept on singing the song. I heard more splashing so I turned around quickly, and see a beautiful brunette. And another brunette. And a blonde. Im surrounded by women, actually mermaids.

The one that started to sing to me takes hold of my face. She starts to pull me into the water slowly. Suddenly I look to the side and see that the brunette is pulled into the water very fast. I look to my other side and see that the other brunette is pulled into the water. The blonde pulls me into the water, tipping the boat. I hold my breathe as much as I can, as I open my eyes there's a mermaid following us, that star like tail, Starlight. She grabbed my arm and I slipped out of the blondes grip and Star pulled me towards the surface.

"Run, swim away now!!!!" thats what she said and pushed me towards the shore. The last thing I saw was her fighting with her so-called sisters. But suddenly all of the mermaids disappear and Starlight is washed ashore.

I get up and run to her as fast as possible. She is breathing. Her dress is torn, so I can see her belly and her legs and she has cuts all over. I turn my head around towards the sea and see a man in the water, and he is swimming closer and closer.

"NO!" I shout, he just smiled and swam away.

I look at Star one more time, and then look for another boat. Luckily there is one so I scoop Star in my arms and place her in the boat gently. I push the boat into the sea and I jump in. I grab the oars and slowly leave the Cove. I look at Star, and see that her scars and cuts slowly heal, and see her tail transform into legs. But there is that one scar on her cheek that won't disappear...
