19: I Love You

STARLIGHT'S DREAM/POV
I run, I try to run faster, but I am nit moving. I try to scream but I can't hear myself. I turn around and see Parita standing above me, her eyes turned from a tropical colour into a burning red, her teeth are insanely sharp. She is the devil. She grabs me by my dress, I am inches apart from her glowing face. Then she opens her mouth and leans closer...NOOOO!

DREAM END
I wake up breathing heavily and I grab my heart as I feel a pain. That is the first nightmare I had in months, it was about Parita. Sam it is just a bad dream. I stand and leave the deck and walk to the bowsprit.

"Sam?" I hear Rich say.
"Aye" I say turning around.
"What was that with Jack yesterday?" he asks
"We had...made a deal"
"A deal? About what? " he asks curiously
"Why do you need to know?"
"You won't believe me if I tell you" he says and I see worry in his eyes
"Just tell me" I say leaning closer to him so our noses are touching.
"Sam, I....I love you" he says with a whisper.

This is the first time someone said that they love me. Obviously Jack said it, and Aquan, but how Rich said it, it made my heart melt. It was honest. I could feel it. He was telling the truth.

"I know that you might not believe me, because...your heart is already shattered into pieces. But believe me...I would do anything for you" he continues.

He looks into my eyes. Those brown eyes piercing through me.

"Jack and I...made a deal about the map" I finally say.
"Like?"
"Well, if I show him the map then... He will teach me to fight." I say
"Can I help?"
"Aye...Sure"

I take his hands in mine and I lean in closer to him and give him a little kiss on the cheek. I could kiss him on the lips. He would become a merman. And I couldn't risk it. He could completely change, and...he...would suffer...like me.

He turns around and looks into my eyes once more amd smiles, I do the same.

"Thank you" he says.
