Starlight 2: Making The Impossible Possible

22: Run away

I keep on thinking who could possibly be Rat...THINK SAM THINK!...My mind is blank I cannot concentrate...

Whistle! Rat stands up and says "Lass, Captain wants you"

He grabs my arms behind my back and ties them. He pushes me forward as I try to walk up the ladder, we were on the bottom deck, how nice...

Finally after a lot of stairs I am on deck, as I am walking I get glares and whistles from the pirates.
"Pirates" I mumble.

As they are doing whatever, I try to find a way out. I look to my right and see land, then I see a spare boat. Rich and Jack and the rest of the crew are standing right infront of the boat. This should work.

I glance over to Rich and see that he has a worrying look on his face. I smile at him and turns around. Does he know what I mean? Just through glances? He looks at me and nods.

Suddenly I feel Rat stop me, and as I look up I see a red beard. BloodBeard.

"Lass, wouldn't you mind showing me the map?" he asks, I'm not falling into that trap. 

"Why do you trust a mermaid?" I ask giving him a glare.

"I have my reasons" He responds. Out of all the possibilities he says that! "Now show it"

I do not move. Sam be brave...You are not a coward...No one will call you a coward...

"Fine you stubborn monster" he whispers. That's it I lost it.

I pushed my arms behind my back higher to hit Rat in the chin as hard as I possibly could. Then when I finally untied my hands, I took a sword out from Rat and pointed it infront of me, towards BloodBeard.

"HA! Is that sword a little to heavy? Your hands are shaking...Weak" He and his crew laughed.

With that I swung my sword and cut of the rope, which caused a pole (I don't know what's it called) to swing and that pushed Jack and Rich to the longboat, I ran to the boat and cut it with my extremely sharp teeth and the boat dropped into the sea. Instead of waiting for cannons to start blasting, I jumped into the water and pushed the boat as hard as I could.

When we reached land, I was tired, very tired. My tail hurt, my head hurt and my stomach growled. It slowly came the time of my eating. I had to do something otherwise I could kill the wrong person at the wrong time. Why do mermaids have this bloody curse?

Slowly the world spun and became darker. The last thing I could see, was Rich trying to pick me up, and said "Samantha?"
