Starlight 2: Making The Impossible Possible

24: We have a monster among us...

Instead of screaming, Sandra ran into the bath tub with me and hugged me. I felt little tears on my neck, and I looked higher and saw Sandra crying.

"I have been waiting for this moment my whole life, Sam." she says in between tears of joy.

When I am about to say something I hear guns. I get out of the tub and slowly feel the pain in my legs. I slowly creep out, and crouch above the stairs, and see men in red and white uniforms. One of them yells.

"Men and Miladies! We have a monster among us!"
"Who?!" someone yells.
"A mermaid!" with that everyone started screaming and running everywhere. I took hold of Sandra's hand and pulled her down the stairs and saw Rich and Jack. We ran out of the pub, and heard guards shout.
"She's there, 3,2,1 FIRE!" and guns were everywhere.

I felt a small drop on my nose, and looked up into the sky. Grey. Rain. More drops started falling from the sky. I screamed for Sandra and the others to wait but nothing came out of my mouth. The same pain I felt in my legs and dropped to the floor. I tried pulling myself but I wasn't that strong. I gave up. I turned my self around and saw a gun pointing at my heart. I started trembling. This would be my end. Then I heard a gin shot. I opened my eyes and there was Jack's hand reached out to me and the guard on the floor. Rich and Jack lifted me and started pulling me across the mud.

Suddenly I felt a strong pain in the middle of my tail. Jack and Rich dropped me with the force, that a sword stabbed me.

"I GOT HER!" a guard yelled.

I look at my teal tail, slowly turning red with the blood dripping everywhere. The pain gets stronger and stronger with every second. Until I no longer can hold it in. I yell as loud as I can, then my arms can't hold me no more and my face touches the muddy ground. I gave up.

SANDRA'S POV

Sam i lying on the floor, dying. I run up to her, and slowly drag her across the floor. I look over to Jack and see that he has blood dripping from his ears. The scream affected Jack, I need to find...what would work, lavender! I take some lavender from my bag and put some of the flower into both of Jack's ears. I gesture for him to go to the ship. I go over to Rich and tell him
"Help me with Sam, we need to get quick to any ship, cause more guards can come anytime soon." with that Rich just nods.

He runs up to Sam and tries to take the sword out of her tail.

"RICH STOP!  If you do that she could bleed to death, we need  keep her wet!"

He nods again and we both lift her up and slowly walk towards the shore looking for a ship.

It is still raining, amd everything is wet and slippery. After running we find a small dingy and we put Sam in there. Suddenly I felt a strong pain in my legs. Like I had knife. I look at Sam and see that she has the sword in the place where my legs hurt. I look at my legs. They are slowly turning a pink and purple colour. I fall into the dingy, and grab the oars and start moving the dingy. Jack and Rich jumped in and helped me move the dingy.

"FIRE!"  and guns started firing.

We ducked and opened our eyes looking out and seeing the moon kissing the ocean.
