"What is this?" The mother said after seconds of silence from the shouts she was making only to be stopped by the scene she was seeing.
"What are you doing here mother?" Alexander asked in harsh tone since he was annoyed.
"Keep yourself descent first!" Paula said while dismissing herself out of the room.
"I think she heard already." Adeline dressed herself and started pacing in the room while Alexander took his time getting ready for work.

Alexander finished and went to the study to listen to her mother.
"Since from the beginning, I told you I don't like that woman, now look! All she does is eat and sleep, and now you can't have children!" Paula yelled.
"Mom, we talked about that, we will adopt and they can still be our children." He said calmly.
"Adopt, huh! I want that woman out of the family. She is useless, all she does is spend money and take our oxygen!" she said, not listening to her own words.
"I am saying this and I am not going to repeat it to you or anybody who wants Adeline out. I WILL NOT DIVORCE THAT WOMAN!" He said loosing his patience.
"We will see about that. If am your mother, you will divorce that woman!" she said walking away, realizing Adeline heard every word of their conversation.

It was a month filled with tears of Adeline, knowing that her problems weren't solved. She was expected to bring not only a child of the Gale's bloodline, but the heir to the Gale's design companies and Hotel resorts they owned. They wanted a baby boy.

At the office

Alexander was inside his office only to be interrupted by his Secretary informing that his sister is coming. He nodded meaning she could get in.
The door was opened by a Diana who was a spoilt brat all her life, Thanks to her mother and his late father.
"Alexander, you don't call these days." she blurted out.
"What do you want?" Alexander said making her to get to the point.
"I can't believe this, you even forgot my birthday because of that woman!" She said sounding irritated.
"Not that woman, she is my lovely wife and her name is Adeline." He said, making himself clear.
"Anyway you have to come, and don't bring what you call 'lovely wife'." She said living the address of the venue.

Alexander went home changed himself for her sister's birthday while Adeline watched as he got ready.
"Is it okay if I go?" he asked and Adeline nodded.
He went away, while Adeline felt her eyes getting heavy. She managed to get herself in bed and sleep her pain away.

At the party

Alexander was away from everyone as sipped on his drink. "Alexander, there you are!" said his sister, while Alexander forced a smile. "Meet my friend, Lily" Diana introduced her friend who was pretty much of a slut. "Hello, Alexander nice to meet you."
"Like wise Lily." Alexander said now forcing a smile again.
"Do you mind If I join you?" Lily asked with intentions of seducing Alexander just like they planned with Diana.
"You can join." He said sounding generous.

At Home

The noises made by the drunk Alexander with Lily woke up Adeline in the middle of the night.
"What are you doing, Alex?" Adeline shouted.
"Who is this?" She asked again.
"Stop, yelling she is Lily." Alexander slurred as he introduced Lily to his wife.
"Hi Lilly, thank you, Can you go now?" Adeline said, trying her level best to seem polite, but Lilly ignored and pushed her away and entered the room. "Out of the way useless woman!" Adeline couldn't say more since she truly saw herself as useless.

The morning came and Adeline went back to the room seeking explanations from Alex only to notice that he was already at work and not at home. She still gave herself hope that when he returns he'll explain everything to her so she decided to visit her sister, Helen, who was leaving next month with her husband to start a new business offered by her husband's friend.

"Adeline, you didn't say you were coming." Helen said, opening the door for her to enter. Helen and her husband were not rich but they had enough to provide for themselves.
"Hello, Helen." Adeline said. Helen being the elder sister, noticed that something was off.
"Why the long face?" She asked while her mind guessed, She went to the hospital again and got horrible answers again.
"My life is a mess since I can't give them their heir, I am a useless person, even Alexander dares to come with his lady friend at home." Adeline said shedding tears, realizing how Alexander disrespect her.
"He dare do what? I think this man did not understand me clearly when I said I don't want any harm to you, now in a month you are leaving with us!" Helen said, anger in her voice.
"I can't now that they think I am useless." Adeline said.
"Yeah, to them, you are useless, to me, you are everything that is left. We are going to that what you call home to pack everything and come back." Helen determinedly said.
"No, I'll just wait for his explanations first." She said standing up to go home.

Adeline waited for her husband until she heard his car parking. Alexander opened the door to their room.
"Oh, you're back." Adeline said sarcastically with a plastic smile.
"Yeah." he replied dryly.
"Mind telling me about your great party and sleep last night? " Adeline inquired.
"I'll tell you about it." Alexander sat down, took papers from his drawer and gave her.
Adeline opened them only to see the word 'Annulment' meaning divorce.
"Is this what you want?" That was all she managed to ask.
"I'll think about it." She told him, tears streaming down her face.

One week passed and the only answer Alexander gets from Adeline is 'I am still thinking about it'.
Adeline couldn't clearly know why Alexander wanted divorce. Was it because she couldn't give birth? Was it because of his family or was he realy tired of her?
Too many questions without answers.
The gate was opened and entered Diana and Paula.
"Aren't you out yet?" Paula asked Adeline who was sitting on the couch thinking about the divorce papers.
"Didn't you get any divorce papers?" Diana asked.
"So you got them, I'll make you sign them!" Paula said while Diana went directly to their room. she took Adeline's clothes and belongings out of the window, throwing them out while Helen was in her way inside.
Helen ran collecting her sisters belongings, putting them in her car randomly while Diana kept throwing them.
"Even better! More reasons to why I am taking my sister." She stopped, collecting things, putting the inside the car and went inside to find Paula throwing tantrums for her to sign the papers.
"Thank God that I saw this interesting scene! Seems God answered my prayers." Helen said.
"Helen, what are you doing?" Adeline said, her voice shaking, her face red and wet of tears and shame.
"I am going to make everything easy to everyone including my self." Helen said going towards Adeline.
"Since you don't want to put your signature in writing, let's do it the old way!" Helen took a stamp ink and Adeline's thumb then forcefully pressed them together and pasted it on the paper.
Helen dragged Adeline out with her before she closed the door, "tell your daughter Thank you for helping me pack her belongings, okay?" Helen stepped outside, continuing dragging Adeline.
"Officially single! Mend it when we go to New York and after two weeks, we gonna practice blind dates. I'll get Mart to help." She smiled and drove away, knowing that her sister is not going to be at shame or ever feel useless and unwanted again.
