"Come on in, Al. Make yourself at home. Any drinks you'd like?" Jessica asks, damn she sounds so noble and wise.
"I'll just take water, thanks," Jess nods and turns on her heel before walking off, I presume to the kitchen.
I hear the front door of the house open, and a shuffling of footsteps coming up the stairs. "Zack!" Wait, that sounds like..?
Crap!
I skidded to behind the bed, and crouched down, praying silently Edward didn't see me. "Hey Ed! What's up!" Oh great, now they're having their useless chit chat in front of the room.
"Why's your sister's door open? She never leaves it open," Crap, crap, crap. Please don't reveal me, Zack. Please. "Oh, she just has a friend over. Nothing much, come on. Let's go to my room," I sigh in relief as I heard their heavy footsteps walking somewhere else.
Jessica walks in with a tray of cookies and a jug of water with two glasses, before tilting her head slightly at my awkward position behind her bed. "Um, you okay there All-" I cover her mouth quickly and look around before signalling her to keep her mouth shut. I kick the door close and release my hand from her mouth.
"The hell was that for?" She asked, annoyed as she put down the tray of snacks on the floor. We sit down cross-legged on the floor as I grabbed a cookie a bit a piece out. "Shut your trap for a while, J, Jess looked taken aback but nodded her head and munched on her cookie silently.
When I was certain the coast was clear, I close her windows and pulled the curtains, before settling down comfortably and leaned against the bed. "Great, it's dark now. I'll turn on the lights now." Jess stumbles over to the light switch and flips it on, and somehow I actually took a good look around her room.
There were posters of '21 Pilots' and '5SOS' pasted around her wall, and I saw her wallpaper of her mini laptop was a picture of the drummer from '5SOS', Ashton Irwin.
"You like the decor of my room?" Jess smirks and laughs, her tone simply screams out that she was proud. "Yeah, you like 5SOS?" I ask, smiling as Jessica sits down and nods. "I can see your favourite is Ashton," she laughs and lets her head fall back while laughing.
"Is it obvious?" She winks as we burst into giggling fits of laughter. "Haha, yep. I love 5SOS as well," Jessica widens her eyes in amusement. "Are you serious? Oh my God, almost all the 5SOS fans I meet are fakes, ew. But, you don't seem like one, I guess," Jessica laughs awkwardly. "Is that a compliment? Haha. Yeah, I hate fake fans as well. They're just so, fake," Jessica laughs. "No other way to describe them. Who's your favourite?" She asks. "The one and only 6"4 penguin, Luke Robert Hemmings," I say as I felt heat creep up to my cheeks.
"Only 6"2 without his quiff," Jessica winks and I nod as we laugh. "He's a dorky abnormally tall penguin, that's why I love him so much," I stated without a care in the world, knowing Jess won't judge me for it. She understood me. "Everyone says his name is Lucas-" Jessica says but I cut her off in an annoyed tone. "But his real name's Luke! Fake fans alert!" I yell, as we high five.
"Favourite ship?" she asks. I look at her with a playful smirk as both of us yell out in sync, "LASHTON!" We burst into fits of laughter as we lay down to the floor, clutching our stomachs in pain.
I smile, knowing I finally found my best friend that understood me more than anyone I've ever known in my life.
More than him.
...
"Bye Allison! See you tomorrow!" I wave bye and walk off into the chilly evening, as I watch the Sun disappear beyond the horizon, painting streaks of purple, blue, orange and pink in the sky.
I hear a car's engine stop behind me, and I quickly pick up my pace. "Allison! Wait!" That similar voice. Crap, it's Edward. I couldn't help but turn around since he caught me, and fake smiled at him. "Y-Yeah?" I ask, shuffling a step behind.
"Want a ride home?" He asks, smiling. "Uh, no thanks. My house is just a few more miles away," I say and continue walking, this time a bit faster. "Wait! Join in, I'll send you home." He opens the car door, and I had no choice but to get in. "House 29," I said in a monotone voice, and watch as he starts the engine and drives off.
I smiled to myself as the chilly breeze whipped through my chestnut brown hair, and before I knew it, we reached my house. "Here you go. Is this the right house?" He asked, politely. "Uh, yeah. Thanks," I got out of the car and closed the door. "Want me to accompany you to the door?" He asked. My heart panged, as I shook my head. He nodded and smiled before driving off.
"Want me to accompany you to the door?"
He always asked me that whenever we went out on dates, and when Edward said that, I couldn't help but stop the tears from dripping.
Sighing, I realized;
I'm not supposed to be the one waiting painfully for him to return, he should be the one begging for my forgiveness. Not me. I shouldn't be here thinking of him every single minute, when he's probably out partying every night. I should just enjoy my college life, and not painfully thinking when he will come back for me. Like what Jessica said a few weeks ago,
"A girl shouldn't be the one to mourn and be sad when they break apart. The boy should be mourning. Don't be so sad when you break up. If he really loves you, he'll come back. And if he never did, then screw him. You have millions of other boys that would love to be with you, *cough* Edward and Zack *cough*, you shouldn't let one boy bring you down and destroy your happiness. Live your life, and don't let whoever you're moping about bring you down. He should be the one moping around, not you. You're a very beautiful girl, Allison, and if you're gonna let a stupid boy destroy your entire happiness, then you need some serious slapping across the face. Allie, sometimes life's not about finding the right one straight away, when the time is right, he'll come. Boys are stupid and most of the time they don't know what the hell they're doing. Your Prince Charming will come at the right time, don't go through so much just to be with the wrong guy, your heart's only made for one guy, and it should be him going through so many obstacles to find you, don't take the man's job. If your Prince Charming is that boy that you love so much, then give him time. He'll come sooner or later,"
Like always, Jessica's the wise one. I know, that if I listen to her advice, I'll be much happier. But honestly,
I really don't think I'll be happy any either way.
