Power.

It was all the heroes and villians cared about, only the heroes required it for the safe keeping of the universe.
On the other hand, you get the idea. Many people wanted to be like them, but not really. What's that you say? You want me to get to the point? Alright, I will, but keep in mind, these characters are different in some sort of way.

6:25 AM
The young fellow known as Ian, literally hit the snooze button half-awake. His dirty shirt and soccer shorts made his thin figure visible. He was relatively tall, but not enough to impress anyone. His messy brown hair stood in every direction, but he never did it anyways. He arose from his bed, but could not stay awake... so he plumped back onto his bed. It wasn't until minutes later his mother called for him. He finally got up and went to get dressed. His eyes still closed, he slumped to the door to have breakfast. Every slow step down the bitter, creaky stairs, he attempted to stay awake. It was almost magic when he went down these stairs without a mistake. His mother cried, "Good morning, eat your breakfast" Ian sat down on the comfy chair and ate with his crusty eyes barely opened. It was the end of September and approaching to October.

6:47 AM-- 4:00 PM
Ian left his big house and off to school. He had many friends there, although he always messed around no matter what. Sneaking behind Ian, was Kianna. She tried to scare him, but it never works. "Hey, snot-face!", exclaimed his true love (Just kidding, I don't mean that... or do I?). Kianna was just as tall as Ian, and stood out from the two with her bright blonde hair. She had blue-green eyes and looked as if she belonged with the popular girls and jocks. Then came along, was a shorter guy, named Jason. His black hair, blown by the wind lightly, showed his very beautiful face. He was always "The Wimp", but he really wasn't. Reading his notes from some kind of science, he mumbled inaudible words, probably from his notebook. Ian bantered,  "Sup, wimp." Jason replied, "Sup, Ian." The three musketeers rushed to school. The leaves blew by their feet, colored with vibrant red, orange, and yellow. The autumn wind skimmed the three as they walked by. Tagging along was Mike. He was always that random person in the group, but they all loved him. Taller than Jason, but shorter than Ian, he had dark brown hair and always wore the same green sweater. "Ah damn, we're gonna be late, again." cried the Wimp. "Who cares?" replied Ian, although he was kind of concerned they would get in trouble, but he shrugged in doubt.
Now walking through the halls, they saw more friends like Cora, Amy, and some others. Jason ran off because he didn't want to be late, but Ian, Kianna, and Mike were still walking normally. Amy was typically shy around people and usually kept to herself, but they were generally nice to her. She wore large colored hoodies and always drew in her decorative and ornamented sketchbook. Her wavy hair always seemed to cover one of her bright green eyes and half her rosy, freckled face. Meanwhile, Cora sort of just came along and nobody really knew where she was from. She says she lives with her aunt and is usually independent anyways. She was a bit taller than most girls and had vivid blue eyes that were shown everywhere she looked. People would say she looked like a tomboy, but all she does is wear boy clothes.
After the first few periods of school, they had lunch and chatted away. Mostly, it was always Kianna blabbering about whatever and being bossy. Ian would say weird things, but Mike was random.
*In Ian's head listening to Kianna* "Blah blah blah and blah blah," Kianna went on and on. Soon he'd fall right back asleep.

4:15 PM
Finally, it was the end of school, and the group had the idea of doing some stupid things. Before they even attempted to do them, they stumbled upon a strange person roaming the alley. His hair wild, and wearing a white, but stained lab coat, or something. Just before Kianna was going to say something, the man said, "Hey! You people! Look what I found!" He pointed with a crooked finger to a strange glowing rock. Ian immediately noticed he was crazy so he whispered, "Just keep walking..." So they did. But what they didn't realize was the rock contained a truly powerful essence inside. "Wait! Come back! You'll see what it is.." he uttered as they left.

Later that day...
Ian plumped down on his rouge-colored furniture, and begin to entertain himself with the TV. He remembered of the crazy dude, and that unusual object. ~Don't even bother Ian, that guy was just insane in the head~ Before he knew it, he dozed off with the television turned on to some 1990's movie...
While he slept, a tiny arthropod crawled up Ian's thin arms. It had the same greenish glow as the rock he saw at the alley. Then, it bit him, literally. Ian, startled, woke from his catching of Z's and cried in pain: "What the fudge was that?" He exclaimed. He made terrible painful sounds and began to feel... different.

Evening
Ian slept in his bedroom, continued to toss and turn, and stared at the ceiling. He got up, went to the kitchen for a glass of warm milk, plumped back on to his bed, and slept. While Ian was asleep, the Spider had bit him again, crawled to it's next victims. While he slept, Ian began to develop powers that couldn't be imagined in real life, like laser eyes, teleportation, ability of flight, and most shockingly of all... Being smart. What I want you to know reader, is that each character that will be turned, will each have different power abilities, to either save the universe or ruin it. In this case, Ian will be neutral because he will be too evil or too nice, which is bad. Find out soon.

Next Day, Saturday; 8:30 Am
Ian woke, more refreshed than ever. He didn't feel himself, he felt... better. Jason, too woke this way, and so this many others of their friends: Kianna, Maci, Mike, Izzy, and Cora. But Jason started his day a little too fast. Yes, now you know Jason has superspeed. He spent the next 20 minutes running in circles, yelling, "WEEEEEEEE". Ian developed multiple powers, but not quite strong. Kianna could've developed a way to not blabber so much, so the Spider decided to make her develop Telepathy and Teleportation, which was way worse, believe me. Mike now can use his random ideas and make them more creative, using the intelligence he received from the Spider, and could now use invisibility. Maci is now more has more agility, and stealth, which is ideal for combat. Cora can control the mountainous waves of sea, handle the freezing temperatures in the blizzards, survive the dry deserts, and command the flames and magma in the planets core. Beware reader, for some of these characters, who have superpowers, could be evil. Generally, one with most power tend to be greedy.
