Your Way Out

"Stay. I'm going to be okay, Ian," Kianna said. "Wait, I have to tell you something before we leave-" he replied in a cracking voice, unsure of their future.
"Save it. I have to go now." She turned and ran off to the main grid. Kianna was to manually launch the escape pod, carrying the heroes and civilians.

Moments before, Ian's PoV
It hurt my elbows to crawl through the door, but not as much my leg. But now isn't the time. "Luna! Where did you go?" I grabbed the sides of the doorway and pushed myself forward. Just then she came right in. "I told you to sit and stay"

"I'm not a dog," he said annoyed.
"Whatever. I found some supplies, but we need somewhere better to do this. I found the others, so we should meet up,"
She took his arm over her and helped him walk. It took a substantial distance before they reached Jason and the people. Kianna finally noticed and almost cried out. "Ian! What happened? Are you okay?" Jason followed, "You get shot? How bad does that hurt?"
Ian muttered in pain, "You don't want to know. I just need this taken care of."

"I can help," a voice hesitantly cried out from the crowd. Soon a short woman wearing blue was recognized to be a doctor or nurse.
"Looks like it went through, so you wouldn't have to worry about pulling anything out. Let me wrap this up, but I couldn't see any meds from what your friend gathered,"
"Thanks, Luna. Real helpful." Ian grunted. Luna's brows furrowed and she punched his arm relatively hard. "Don't be a baby,"
Ian flinched and rubbed his arm in defeat.
"Where's- Ow! Mike and- Ow! Ow! and Maci" he said, weakly. Kianna's head went up, "Oh, Maci's looking for Mike because he was being dragged by his foot from a raptor.." she went on for minutes, "And uh, oh yea Maci can turn into animals-" Ian's eyes regained focus from staring thousands of miles, "Well that could be useful," he interrupted. "Thanks, anyways doc, but we've got some planning to do." She got up and said, "Just don't put pressure and try to keep from standing on it." But he ignored and tried to get up. "We need a way to get back. I was talking to that scientist guy and the portals are down for open use, which means they're too heavily guarded. We need another way back home," "It's up to us to get these people safely, too." Kianna supported.
Ian ordered Jason to quietly speed around and search. As he took off, metal scratching sounds grew from the opposite hallway. It was Maci and her raptors racing towards them as their claws attempted to grip the ground. Everyone felt uneasy as both parties looked at each other, but Maci turned back to normal with a poof. "We found Mikey and possibly a way out"
Jason came back as well, saying, "I think I know how to get out of here,"
"I think we should let Maci explain," Ian said, but Jason just groaned and sighed.
"Okay guys let him go. Now" She said, turning around. One raptor had its mouth opened as if it were holding something. It was. Mikey's foot. He reappeared and was seen to be upside down. The raptor dropped him and let him fall with a thud. It ran back into its own group. "Bro just get up," Ian called out. "That was not a fun ride."
"Anyways," Maci interrupted, "there are escape pods that haven't been used, yet. It seems like they're enough to get everyone into."
"So, we just find our way and get to them. Easy." Ian said. "Not exactly, these soldiers, whoever they work for, are waiting to regroup and use them to get to Earth. So we have to hurry." It took some time before they planned out quickly. Finally, the Order led the civilians quietly along the halls as the raptors followed in front and behind them. Mike was ahead scanning the area invisible, giving out the all clear. This whole ship was a maze, but the raptors knew the place well.
They've reached their destination. It was a massive room, almost like where they fought Cora a while ago. This was a landing site for shuttles. The ceiling was glass and showed the various stars and lights in the depths of space. The glass continued to one side, where ships were transported out. Looking out revealed a large blue circle. Earth. Their home. Deanimation SpaceStation, a vessel of unimaginable size, was parked in front of this planet, revolving seemingly slowly around. The engines of these ships readied as these people prepared to head to earth. Many wore void black suits, especially the pilots or astronauts. They were abstained from color and blended in with the abyss called space. Each wore badges with the letter D and red triangles pointing above and below it. It was no longer a secret what plans they would unfold.

"There, our escape," Ian pointed across to the left of the white room. They were on the right side. "Just straight across." Circular doors, some opened, showed that they were the escape pods Jason tried to explain. Soldiers scattered across the site, covering different levels. Staircases ran along the sides with bright orange rails. At the top was a glass room in the middle, filled with all kinds of computers, the main grid. "Phase 1, distraction," Ian whispered to himself. Jason sped off upstairs and in circles, flinging papers and debris around. Ian simultaneously ran to a ship and set his hands on it. He breathed and pushed. It creaked loudly and tilted sideways. He continued to push until the ship finally caught off balance. It fell in front of him, toppling other ships like dominoes. Maci turned back into a raptor and led her army off into battle. They all scrambled and chased soldiers around like prey. Guns began going off, and it was getting dangerous to run across. Luna left the group, figuring a way to get them across. Just then, a raptor ran past, shoving her to the floor. It was heading towards a soldier whose gun pointed in Luna's direction. He opened fire at them.
She held her arm over in fear, but nothing happened. She opened her eyes and was surrounded in some purple field bubble with the raptor. It looked around also confused but quickly noticed the soldier. His bullets hit the bubble but didn't go through. The raptor scurried over and did its job. Meanwhile, Luna got up and did what was needed. "Okay, just do what you did right there" She told herself. She raised both arms in front of her. Her bubble surround the civilians, amazed at what happened. They hurried across the lengthy room in the middle of chaos. Soldiers above took noticed and started firing at them. Luna, with her arms raised, had fatigue setting in quickly. The bubble grew weaker and flickered. They were three quarters of the ways. However, one by one, each soldier was knocked and thrown with some mystical force. Nah, it was Mikey beating them up, invisible like a cheater. "Keep going!" Ian yelled, "Almost there!" Luna took stance again and soon the bubble grew forcefully again. They kept running. Civilians were rushed into each escape pod, waiting for the Order to come back.
"I can't get it to go!" Mike said, "They might've locked it from the main grid!"
"Someone has to go up there and set us off!" Jason added.
Each level still had soldiers shooting, raptors clawing, and soon other creatures following pursuit. It was a narrow shot.
"I got it," Ian finally let out. "What? No!" Kianna disagreed, "Let me!"
"No, I know what I have to do," Ian said back.
"Ian I am not letting you do this. I can do it."
"Guys! No time now!" Maci yelled out.
Someone had to take one for the team.
"I can do it. Let me." Kia ended.
Ian panting managed out a sigh and his head fell.
"Stay. I'm going to be okay, Ian," Kianna said. "Wait, I have to tell you something before we leave-" he replied in a cracking voice, unsure of their future.
"Save it. I have to go now." She turned and ran off to the main grid. Kianna was to manually launch the escape pods, carrying the heroes and civilians.
She was able to teleport, but at short distances for multiple times or long distance at once. She carried on, level by level, taking as much precaution hiding behind computers and crates. She managed inside the room and looked around, frantically almost. "Where are you? Cmon.." She kept looking. "Escape pods, there!" She pressed launch on the last few escape pods, and teleported away. Each time took substantial amounts of energy, slowing her with each go. Doors were closing one by one, and the Order was the last to close. She slammed her hands on the door, catching her last breaths. Her eyes closed for a moment and opened suddenly. She clenched and took off.

Kianna started to hear her surroundings again and her eyes slowly opened. She was on the floor, but was being held by Ian. "You see..." she muttered tiredly, "I came back stupid,"
and slumped back to him. He felt relief and his shoulders dropped. Fwoop. The escape pods detached and headed for home. At the windows were some raptors, looking sideways at them and tilting their heads. They cried out, but there was no sound. "Where's our parents in all this?" Jason asked after some time. Ian looked up at him and replied.
"Oh, they're around."
