Part 2: Frightening First Battle

The Next Day
Ian had tried to keep the unusual morning go as normal as possible, but it was difficult to not think about the wonders he had inside him. It wasn't until his mother noticed the bite marks on his arm, "Honey, are those bite marks on your arm?" She quavered. "Uh, no? Its just marker mom, seriously!". She gripped his arm, in disbelief and said, "Is that Kianna girl giving you some sort of hickeys?" Ian groaned heavily and finally said, "Mom, Im late for school I got to go now." He left the house, scratching the itchy bite with his chewed fingernails. Up until the last few blocks away from school, A blurry figure zoomed passed by Ian, who obviously was Jason. He stopped if front of Ian, who was recovering from the frightful scare from his buddy. "What the heck was that?! How did you do that?!" Said Ian. "A new superpower that I have after staying up to 8:05 (PM)" He replied (His usual bedtime was 8:00 PM, yeah what a wimp he is). For the first time, Ian became jealous of Jason, other than being most liked of the two. "I don't think it was that, that gave you superpowers" Ian pointed at Jason's arm, where a bite mark visibly stood out, bright red, from his pale skin. Jason suddenly became alarmed from the mark and yelled, "Eek! A bite! I need to disinfect it!" "Look Jason, your superpower is cool and all, but you shouldn't show it to ANYBODY! You hear me? NOBODY!" "I understand." Jason replied, out of breath from panicking, as they continued to walk to school. Just before the last block away from school, Ian heard voices that sounded like Kianna's voice, which either irritated him harshly, or had him going head over heels. He still had mixed feelings about Kianna, but they'd fit right together. But really, it was Kianna, repeatedly saying, "Ian! Look behind you, fish-brain!" Ian sighed to those voices and looked past behind him, with Kianna waving to them, smiling. "Oh great, Jason walk faster please!" Jason did as was told, but Kianna caught up with them with a snap of a finger, teleporting to them immediately. "Oh Ian, you know I'm faster than you." She mentioned.

12:15 PM;  2 hours until end of school
     There they all sat, Jason, Ian, Kianna, Cora, Maci, and Mike, at the lunch table. Jason couldn't handle it no more, he cried out so only the whole table could hear, "I can run really fast!" Some giggled at his 'Joke', while others were in confusion. Jason didn't seem to be as athletic as Ian and Kianna. Ian kicked his shin under the table, who jumped. Kianna knew Jason was telling the truth, who she was using her powers before Ian she had any, but she stayed quiet, surprisingly, not to say a word. Mike said, "Jason, if you do have super speed prove it to me after school". The others agreed to watch as well. They would soon see what would happen to themselves.

4:15 PM; Afterschool
     Mike and the others waited outside for Jason to get out of that hell place. About half a minute later Jason zoomed out, there with no one actually seeing him. Mike barely saw the figure past in front of him... though flinched as if a projectile were heading towards him. "Woah!" He cried out, and look at the others to see if he wasn't seeing things. In a split second, there he was, Jason standing as if nothing happened. Ian thought Jason was showing off, just because he thought Jason had a power and he didn't, even though they both had bite marks on their arms. "Well, you proved me wrong, but how come I don't get a power like you?" Mike cried. But he did, and Ian noticed the same mark on Mike's arm aswell. He decided to explain everything about how the  bite gave unique powers and noticed that everyone, Ian, Jason, Kianna, Mike, Cora, and Maci had one. Maci wondered about her power, and so she stated about how she had to go, and as she walked away, she slips on some ice cream, who came from a crying child with the empty cone. Amazingly, Maci does a graceful backflip, and within the next second, is standing as if nothing happened. The sobbing child stood in amazement, and jumps up and down, clapping both sticky hands with the ice cream cone on the floor. Maci now understood the bite mark gave a big level up to her agililty, stealth, and stamina. She then had a funny feeling in her arms; Maci stretched out her pale arms, only to see frost shoot out from one arm, and some webbing from the other  (How unoriginal lol.) But, Cora, who failed her physics exam, grew in more irritation as she couldn't find what she developed.  She then stomped down the street home. Without noticing, she left behind small cracks in the cement, the size if her own feet. The anger fuming out of her ears distracted her from noticing what she's done. Cora then walked past a fire hydrant, which enlarged in water and popped right out of the cement ground. With ice cold water that splashed all over her, she became confused and finally looked behind her. Everyone saw the water piping out of the space which the hydrant occupied, but were even more surprised from the foot-shaped cracks in the ground. She thought as if an earthquake was occurring behind while she feeling down. Then it clicked in her head, and decided to break the earth some more, by moving the ground, and changing the weather. It was madness going on everywhere she was. Cora grew more excited and reckless as to see the destruction she left behind every block. Cars swerving and people fleeing the scene afraid brought the newly formed, but uncoordinated heroes to their first task.
     Ian saw the changings of the ground, and rose above the ground to avoid injuries. Jason sprinted about, dodging debris being thrown about the streets. Reporter vans suddenly show up to broadcast how it is snowing in summer. "Crap." Ian paced back and forth in the air, trying to plan what to do to stop Cora, when a shaking of the ground occured below him. The erosions underneath the earth caused hot magma to rise from the mantle of the Earth. Maci then exclaimed, "Wait guys, I really think we should do something." Ian then realized and fell on his feet delicately, "I really don't know. The military or whatever is gonna come to stop her and since we all have powers, they might get us too." "No! We should do something! All of us will go after her and... and..." They really didn't have a plan.
     The five ran through the madness, only to find Cora, ruining the streets where cars drove by, braking into each and about. "Cora! Stop this now!" Ian cried out, and was greeted with a groundbreaking welcome. "It's one against four, surely we are to win!" Kianna stated. But Cora's power was unimaginably great, able to withstand four powers at once. Jason raced in to tackle down Cora, but was countered with walls of cement raised from the ground, completely covering Cora. Jason bolted then crashed at very high mileage, leaving him on the ground, unconscious. At least the walls cracked and broke. Then came out Kianna, who distracted Cora with her telepathy and teleportation, saying ~Hey Cora! Over here!~, and then teleporting to another location, to strike Cora's fury. She continuously attacked Cora, but wasn't enough to stop Cora from creating stone walls and stopping Kianna. Cora then raised the concrete walls again, entrapping Kianna, until she wasn't able to move. Lava hot enough to melt rose from the cracks and seeped in the walls, burning Kianna. Maci then arrives from out of nowhere, with an elegant front flip, and heads toward Kianna. Jolting her left arm forward, frost burst out of her arms, giving off a shiny white glow with it. The lava cooled and Kianna felt relieved. These heroes are not immortal, but definitely more superhuman than regular beings. Ian broke through the cage of stone to save his lady, punching straight through. Everyone distracted or defeated, Cora escapes through a river flowing in the air, carrying her off into the distance. Ian noticed she was heading in the direction home, where the glowing rock was in the alley. It was too difficult for the heroes to keep up with Cora,  but the remains of their surroundings became a bigger concern. Mike crouched behind a car, and began to ran off cowardly. Jason woke up and questioned what had happened. The group gathered and appeared defeated.  The newly formed Order of Space Squad the had encountered their first frightening battle...
