Part 4: Maci Joins the Dark Side!?

I jumped out of the portal after Kianna did, and my head started to not feel right. I felt a painful headache, and a strange urge... of betrayal. I saw Ian and the others whispering, crouching behind of what seemed like a generator, then I saw the two gaurds, with large weapons. I took out my two axes, in case we have to take them out. Then I heard someone behind me. Then without warning, I nearly struck Jason's throat. He flinched at the weapons, with his hands up, but I sighed annoyed and looked at the gaurds. I saw Mike get up, grip his metal bat, and head towards the gaurds, now activating his invisibility. One was struck and fell unconscious, while the other looked and reacted with prepping his weapon. However, it was his turn to be struck out. "Strike three, you're out!" I heard Mikey say. It was funny seeing the gaurds get knocked out by nothing, but really they were hit by the bat. We ascended to the door that they guarded, and grabbed their weapons. Just before we were going to open the door, we heard more of them marching towards us. Kianna teleported back to where they were, Mike went invisible, Jason ran over to Kianna, and Ian flew to the ceiling, and left me here standing. I jumped to the door, pulled myself up, and ricocheted to a corner in the dark, holding on with my webbed hands. Just then the guards in grey and black armor, with shining red guns arrived in, checking the place. "Are you sure you heard something?" "Yes! Im sure I did!" They looked at the two other guards on the floor. They immediately left to signal the rest of the troops. To my surprise, they knew English. Probably after spying on Earth so much, and kidnap people. They turned back and we didn't hear anything after that. I jumped down, without hurting anything, and we regrouped. And then that's when it started happening.
As we walked throughout the ship, quietly, I had these weird images in my head. They struck at me, appearing to be attacking my own team... and following the enemy we know as Cora. I couldn't take it anymore, so I disappeared from the Order, to be alone. I didn't know where I was going. I stumbled into this small dark room. I began to follow these hallucinations, which made me feel frustrated. But right in a way. It was too difficult for me to resist, I gripped my weapons hard, trying to fight the urge, but then I couldn't control myself. I got back up to my feet, weapons in both hands, bow slung over my shoulder, and walked out. I found Ian scanning the area, but looked at me, "Maci? Aren't you supposed to be scouting the area? Quit standing there and be useful." I raised my hand, ready to strike, and and swung as hard as I could. Ian had very good reflexes, and stepped back. He caught his breath and whispered loudly, "Maci! What are you doing?! We're on the same team!" "No we're not!" And I swung again. Ian shook his head as he kept dodging, "The scientist must've done something to you... Oh no." Ian ran off, too quickly for me to catch up when I was approached by two gaurds. I pushed them off to the side, and kept running. He was nowhere in sight, then I heard a siren go off. That's when I heard Kianna yell, using her telepathy, "Regroup everyone to the portal!"
I kept running, avoiding these stupid guards in my way. As I kept going I saw Mike using his ability to not get caught. Then Jason, of course speeding through everyone, including me. Kianna then said to us, "We need everyone back at the generator room or we can't go into the portal. We do not leave members of the Order behind." I thought about what she said. 'We do not leave members of the Order behind.' However with me going crazy, how can they not leave me behind, with their enemy Cora? It was a tough decision to make. Finally, I arrived at the room with the portal, I saw the Order run into it, while the gaurds we're shooting their weapons, which sounded like, PEW PEW (I don't know). I shoved Mikey and Kianna into the portal, leaving me behind. "Maci! C'mon, we have to go!" I heard Kianna say. I could see Ian and Mike trying to fight off more guards as they entered the portal. Suddenly, my arms were being grabbed. I was being held back by two guards. I resisted but they were strong. The portal began to close and I couldn't move. Jason ran through and came back. He furiously fought the men holding me, yet I felt I could have saved myself on my own, to be fair. "Hurry, Maci, cmon!" He took my arm and dragged me with lightning speed to the portal as it was closing inches away.
Just then I realized I was on the other side when Ian said, "Uhh, guys I think dropped the rock back on the ship..." Everyone groaned, knowing they would have to get back. The rock would make it able for them to travel to the ship, as well as back home. We waited back at the lab for a while, until we thought things cleared back there. Until then we searched around, figuring out what exactly this lab did research on. These people really did research on this one creature, resembling a person but as a zombie. These things were apparently really strong, with powerful, and quick swipes. They were faster than sprinting speed, and seemingly hard to take out. Maybe, that's why this place got overrun. I don't know where this place is, by the way. It doesn't seem it's in the ship. Probably buried under the Earth would no one would figure out this secret lab.
Ian finally regrouped us, but stared at me, just in case I was going to do anything. I held my urges back. "Alright guys, let's get back and get it." He made this intricate plan about retrieving it to where he left it, but I stared off into space. He shot the weapon again to open the portal, but then it made a beeping sound after. The battery was still one bar, but blinking. We ran off to get the rock back. Mike would go invisible again to go and look if its safe. He gave Jason the signal to go, and then Jason was off. It wouldn't take long so we went back, again. Suddenly, I felt the images creeping in my mind. I gripped my axes again, but looked at Kianna. "Are you alright, Maci? You don't seem okay." I said I was fine but then poised my weapons at her. About to strike her however, I heard shouting from behind us: "Freeze!!" More soldiers ran after them. They ran into the portal and called to me. I stood there, with no reaction. One minute I stood there, but I saw a flash before my eyes. I felt electricity course throughout my body, but I couldn't react. I fell to the ground. The voices began to distance from me, and I lost a grasp of my vision. Cora, was the thought to last run through my head. Everything went black.
