chapter 14

Katie's POV

The week I had left with James had flown by, super fast unfortunately, and despite it all there was something inside of me that kept saying he's going to leave, I hope its not true but I don't know if that's true to say anymore. still holding onto the hope that it is; despite my mind, I threw my last pair of shoes in my suitcase zipping it up along with Tommys suitcase and backpack. I hauled the suitcases downstairs. James was waiting he couldn't go to the airport so he had to say goodbye here. I was quickly pulled into a warm hug. "I love you Katie Linn" "I love you too James" I pulled away, and kissed him quick but despite me trying it to be a fast kiss James deepened the kiss and whatever else was happening behind us it didn't matter. I pulled away, my face heating up. I could hear Harry laughing, but then came over to me draping his arm over my shoulders. "you love him don't you" "yeah Harry I love him and always will" We meaning Tommy, And I piled into the car with Niall, I blinked back tears as I sat down in the passenger seat. "Katie its okay, I know your upset" I just nodded my head. I hated pity, it was never what I wanted. I never want to look week and attention seeking. Nobody likes a selfish girl.

I boarded the plane with Niall and Tommy he was unsure of it at first and didn't like sitting still, I am definitely thankful for the seatbelt. Tommy was playing with a few cars and a toy airplane that Santa gave him. I pulled out my phone, a text from James was already on the screen.

James<3 : Hey Love!!! how's Tommy miss you so much love u <3 <3 <3

Katie : Hey James he's good doesn't like sitting still I'll call you when I get to Mullingar. I love you <3

James <3 : Okay <3

I shut my phone off and stared out the window my world was slowly disappearing. I wanted to sleep, but it was impossible. my heart was falling apart or already did, I'm not sure. tears still fell from my eyes.

Niall's POV

It was sad to see both Katie and James when they said goodbye. you know you hope that it lasts between the two but at the same time, you don't really know. Katie was super hard on herself and nobody knows why? maybe its just the way it is. she was obviously heart broken I mean she had a real life a happy life she smiled from her eyes and was just happy, and now its gone who knows, if she'll ever be the same. I watched her from my seat on the opposite isle as she stared out the window. the plane was beginning to descend and I had to wake up Katie. I grabbed the luggage as we walked off the palne, Katie carried Tommy careful because he was sleeping.

We pulled up in front of my childhood house. I glanced over at Katie who gave me a small smile and talked quietly to Tommy.

Katie's POV

I was dreading every moment to come. I was meeting Niall's mum and I was a wreck. I could barely muster a smile. I couldn't even hardly fake it, I just miss James so much. The taxi pulled up to the house where Niall grew up it was nice 2 big trees I. The front yard, probably Niall and his brother climbed them, when they were younger. I leaned In so I could talk to Tommy who had just woken up. "Hey we're at uncle ni ni's house" I say and he smiles  back. He was my sunshine "why u sad mummy?" His innocence so sweet. "Mummys not sad she's just  tired Tommy" I reply getting out of the car. " are you  sure mummy" he asks "yeah sort of mummy misses daddy" " "Down down" Tommy says pointing to the ground. I set him down and hand him his backpack. Niall leads the way. His mum called a 'come in' and Niall opened the door. "Mum" Niall calls she comes out of the kitchen I'm guessing because she has an apron on and some flour on her brow. "My Niall I missed you" she hugs him really hard and then sees me and Tommy "Niall is this Katie?" She inquires "yes mum this is Liam's adopted daughter Katie Lynn. And her son Tommy" he mumbles the last part but she quickly proceeds  over to Me and hugs me super hard. "It's so nice to meet you" she says. "Now I set up an air mattress in Niall's room so this way you don't miss him Too much" I just nod my head. Niall showed me up to his room. Where a air mattress lays on The floor. I set my bags down and Tommy's as well.

Niall's POV
I headed back down stairs eager to eat something good. "Niall, earlier did you say Katie is Tommy's  mum?" She questions I nod my head due to the fact that my mouth was full of cookie  batter. "Oh! I see" she says then busking around "mum it's not like that she was raped" my mum turns to me "she was" she says quietly. I nod my head back. "Is she okay" my mum asks.

Katie's POV
Niall informed me he was getting something to eat and to make myself at home. So I did the norm. I guess tidied up. Changed tommys nappy and fix both our hair. Tommy was playing on the air mattress so I sneaked downstairs, I heard some moving around then a quiet 'she was' from Niall's mum. They then talked a little louder which was nice. "Is she okay?" Niall's mum asks . " umm...." He didn't know how to say I was broken to say I had failed hopelessly in life. "Well she had to leave behind her boyfriend yesterday on her birthday so I was thinking.... Wait I'll do it but umm yeah I'll figure it out anyhow she's super sweet just got to know her And Tommy sweet boy same age as Theo." "yeah they're coming tonight for dinner"
I hear theo never heard that name before. Hmmm

I then remembered my promise to James and pull out my phone. It rings before I get his voicemail

"I'm sorry, James is unavailable at the moment" the machine says "after the beep says record message" *beep* "hey James it's Katie but you probably already knew that... Any Who I arrived in Ireland  and I met Niall's mum so yeah just wanted to let you know just call me back when you have time. Love you" and I hung up.
