Chapter 15

Josh's POV

When I woke up I could feel the pain in my eye. I opened my eyes slowly, but my left eye stayed closed. I looked in front of me to see blonde hair spread out in front of me. Maya's beautiful face was buried in the blankets. I kissed her forehead softly and noticed that the swelling in my lip had gone down.

I got out of bed slowly and walked to the bathroom. I looked in the mirror. God I looked worse than I thought. My lip had stopped swelling and was going down. My eyelid was almost black and everywhere around my eye is dark purple.

I turned the cold water on and splashed it across my face. I grabbed a wash cloth and wiped off my face. I didn't have clothes to change into so I just walked to the kitchen.

I grabbed out a ton of ingredients and started to make pancakes.

Riley's POV

I woke up and smelled pancakes. They smelled good and not burnt so it couldn't have been my mom baking. I remembered what had happened and that my parents couldn't come home last night. I looked over next to me to see Farkle still sleeping. He was so adorable.

I got out of bed slowly and walked to the kitchen. Josh was baking and Maya was sitting at the table talking to him.

"Hey," I said as I walked up.

"Hey Riles," My Uncle and my best friend said at the same time. They looked at each other and smiled.

I rolled my eyes and laughed as I sat down next to Maya. I pulled out my phone and saw that I had a text from my parents.

Mom: Be home in thirty minutes:)

That text had come and hour ago.

"Hey Josh, did my parents text you at all?" I asked him.

He pulled his phone and checked. "No. Why?"

"Nothing. I just got a text an hour ago that said they were gonna be here in thirty minutes. They probably just stopped somewhere." I knew they wouldn't have lied, so there must have been a lot of traffic.

"Hey." Farkle said as he walked into the room rubbing his eyes. He came and sat down next to me.

"Hey." I said as I slipped my hand into his.

"Where you your parents?" He asked as he looked around the room.

"On their way home." I told him

"Okay," He said.

"Breakfast is ready!" Josh announced as he set plates in front of us all and sat down next to Maya.

I took my hand from Farkle's as I soaked my pancakes in syrup and devoured them.

"Mmm. Delicious." I said as I finished. I looked around and no one else had finished eating. They all stared at me with astonished faces at how quickly I had ate.

"What?" I asked.

Everyone shook their heads and went back to eating. I rinsed off my plate and went in the living room and turned on the TV. I curled up into a ball and fell asleep.
