It was the day that students were heading home for Christmas and the whole castle seemed in chaos. I sat in the Gryffindor common room with Harry, Hermione and Ron. Who had both decided to stay for the holidays, after gaining permission from their parents. We watched as our fellow housemates began to bring down their bags, ladened with clothes and books ready for their return to their families. Spotting Seamus struggling down the stairs, I rose and helped him with his trunk. carrying it down to the main entrance on the ground floor.

"Thanks Anna, Merry Christmas!" He called as he set off out of the castle and off to the main gates. I smiled and waved, calling back my own seasons greeting, before wandering into the Great Hall and taking seat on one of the long Gryffindor benches, which lined the houses table. I pulled my jumper sleeves over my hands and pulled out my transfiguration book, delving back into our new topic, part-transformation. I was totally engrossed in a story of a man, who turned his top half into an eagle and flew into a forest, in order to save his wife who was being chased by a forest troll. I was so captured in the amazing use of magic that I didn't notice someone sit down opposite me until they cleared their throat.

I jumped dropping my book and staring up at the woollen jumper of my accompanier. Oliver smiled,

"Hi." He said sweetly, his chocolate eyes shining with amusement.

"Hi." Glancing behind him I noticed his trunk, his initials O.W. engraved in gold upon it.

"Your all set?" It was more of a statement than a question and I knew he would be able to hear the sadness in my voice. I looked back down to my book avoiding his eyes, he had gone home before for Christmas and I had been fine, but with the constant threat of attack it was hard on both of us to separate. Many things can happen in two weeks. I smiled as I watched his hands curl around my own, protectively, comfortingly...lovingly.

"Anna." The softness in his voice drew me in, his warm breath washing over me in a wave of irresistible torture. My icy eyes drew up to his and I was immediately captured, I always loved how his eyes sparkled. Flecks of hazel and gold floating in his chocolate pools, so perfectly. So beautiful. I sighed involuntary, simply drifting off into my thoughts, as his thumbs brushed over my cold fingers. Around us I could heard the bustle of students and teachers alike, but I didn't care. I had Oliver and I was...happy. I call from the entranceway roused us both.

"Everyone for the Hogwarts Express! Come along!" I looked over to the doors to see Hagrid watching us carefully. Opposite, Oliver sighed and stood, allowing my hands to fall from his. I copied him, suddenly feeling incredibly lonely. I clutched my book to my chest in search of some comfort. I walked with my friend until we reached the main exit, leading out to the large stone bridge and the on to the gates into Hogwarts. I paused at the top of the steps and Oliver turned to me. He stood his trunk next to us and took my hands again.

"Be safe." He whispered, his eyes shining with longing and I knew mine were the same. How I wished to go with him, to see his world, where he grew up. His family, friends, but alas I was to stay put. To carry out the Polyjuice plan...to completely and utterly miss him.

"Stay in the common room, travel in groups...don't get Petrified." He chuckled, but his words were stern and saturated with worry.

"I be fine, I promise." A small smile managed to creep onto my lips as he bent down to receive his case.

"Bye, Anna."

"Bye." I whispered, watching as he turned and began to head out into the crowd. A strange feeling began to bubble inside me as he began across the bridge, a strange emptiness. I hated it. Letting out a gasp of desperation I began after him. Sprinting down the steps and put of the courtyard I called his name.
