I woke the next morning, the sun shone outside, seemingly oblivious to the nights storm. I sat up quickly and looked over towards Hermione's bed. She sat upon it, her nose buried deep into a book.
"Morning." I yawned, I figured if I treated her exactly how I used to, she would do the same.
"Morning, Anna. We have work to do." Her determined eyes caught mine and I watched her.
"Work?" I asked rolling I gracefully out of bed.
"Yes, you need to find McGonagall and I am going to the library."
"What for?" I scraped my head in confusion.
"The diary and the recent attacks, have to be linked. The Heir has returned, I just seriously hope that after all this, it's not you." I gaped at her, mouth open and eyes wide.
"Hermione." I spluttered. "You really think it could be me?"
"No. I don't think your doing it, I think it's you presence that's made it possible." I guess I couldn't argue with her there, only a few weeks ago I had thought the same thing.
"Right, lessons are cancelled today, because of the game. Which by the way has been changed to Hufflepuff versus Gryffindor, the Ravenclaw keepers got an injury and they pulled out." I nodded. "So McGonagall will be at the game most definitely. So you have numerous opportunities before and after the game to speak to her." I seriously loved Hermione, but sometimes she gave orders like a drill sergeant. She spun suddenly leaving me to get ready, it was going to be a long day.
I stopped by the barn first, letting Grace into the paddock. I felt like I'd been neglecting her for the past week, but the sooner I got this mess straightened out, the sooner things could get back to normal. I set off in search of the Professor, checking her classroom, her study, her living quarters, I even ventured into the Gryffidor Quidditch team tent, in search of her. Nothing.
"Anna. Anna!" I turned to whom ever was hissing at me. I spotted Harry, his clean Quidditch robes brushing the floor.
"What are you doing in here?" He asked, his eyes darting round at his teammates. Fred and George stood to the side smiling wryly at us, out the corner of my eye I saw someone enter. The rest of the team was already here, so I knew who it would be.
"I came to wish my friend good luck, am I not allowed to do that now?" I pouted dramatically and behind my I heard a sharp intake of breath. Yes, I'd been right, Oliver. Harry sighed knowing exactly what I was doing.
"I'm looking for McGonagall, have you seen-"
"Alright, listen up!" Looking up my eyes met with the hard brown ones of the Gryffindor captain.
"We play our game, Hufflepuff doesn't stand a chance. We're stronger, quicker and smarter." His gaze refused to meet mine, but I knew the pep talk wasn't about the team. He was comparing Himself to Harry, I rolled my eyes and snorted.
"Not to mention that they're dead scared that Harry'll Petrify them, if they fly anywhere near him." Fred laughed, along with the rest of the team, whilst Oliver just smirked, his eyes flickering to my own.
"We'll, that too." He paused his attention drawn to the door behind me.
"Professor McGonagall." I spun quickly elated that she was here, but upon seeing her face I was not so sure about my previous excitement. Her eyes were hard, sad. As she scanned each of our faces she landed upon me and Harry.
"The match, has been cancelled." She said quickly, sending the room into uproar.
"We can't cancel Quidditch." Oliver protested, flinging the broom he held in his hand into on if the couches. Looking closer I could see it was the broom if bought him for Christmas, I smiled at that.
