Charms class came and went along with my other lessons. I sat looking attentive and wrote notes, but my concentration was elsewhere. All I could think about was that black book, it laid happily within Harry's bag, mocking me with its presence. The more I thought about it the less able I was to stop. The hissed whispered echoed out from the corners of my mind, growing quieter each time I tried to decipher their words. It frustrated me.
"Anna? Anna!" I blinked furiously trying to draw myself back to the present. I found myself stood on one of the spiral staircases, looking out of one of the windows. My gaze focused on the Forbidden forest. I turned to see who had been calling me and came face to face with Neville.
"Oh Neville....what's wrong?" I asked flustered at being caught once again in my thoughts.
"I just wondered if you were alright, I mean- you've been stood there for quite a while." His rounded face flushed with embarrassment, whether at admitting to watching me, or at simply talking to a girl. I wasn't sure.
"I'm one thank you. Just daydreaming I suppose." I shrugged and smiled.
"I'll see you later Neville." I said quickly before fleeing down the stairs.
I spotted Harry and Ron making their way out to one of the courtyards and ran to catch up with them.
"Hey!" I called after them, causing the black haired boy to turn and effectively stopped his redheaded friend.
"Anna, there you are." Ron chuckled and I shot his a steely look.
"Thanks for leaving me on the stairs." I scolded and both boy sniggered.
"We'll you kind of when into your own world, we didn't know if it was safe to shake you or not." I narrowed my eyes at my spectacled friend.
"Ha ha, very funny." I commented sarcastically and our trio set off again across the grassy area. They began talking about classes and homework, while I simply listened barely. A sudden weight on my shoulder roused my and I spun I to see the grinning face a Seamus Finnigan.
"Hey Anna, you going to the match?" He asked cheerfully.
"Match?" I asked, glancing towards Dean who had followed his hyperactive friend and was now looking down at me apologetically.
"He means the Hufflepuff/Ravenclaw game, in two days." The tall dark skinned boy informed and I smiled thankfully.
"I suppose so, I mean I probably will." I shrugged, happy to finally have a genuine topic to talk about.
"Brilliant!" Seamus exclaimed, flinging his arm round my shoulder.
"See you there then?" His voice was hushed, but loud enough for our small group to hear.
"Yeah, I guess." His smiled grew impossibly large and I could help buy smile back.
"Great, see you there." He removed his arms from me and bounced off through one of the open archways back into the castle, Dean dragging behind.
"I swear he fancies you." Ron huffed, I turned quickly towards him mouth gaping.
"He does not!" I exclaimed, louder than intended.
"Oh please, he so does."
"Does not."
"Does."
"Doesn't."
"Does."
"Doesn't!"
"Does!"
"Who does what?" I gasped spinning, my eyes widened as they came into line with familiar chocolate pools and tousled brown hair. I glanced at Ron begging him not to speak, unfortunately he didn't get to message.
"Seamus does fancy Anna." The redhead announced triumphantly, I however watched Oliver carefully. His liquid eyes hardened and his jaw clenched, whilst still smiling. To anyone else it would seem like there had been not difference, but I knew his features so well that I could spot a change a mile away.
"Humph..." Oliver half laughed, half huffed at Ron. He then turned to me, his crooked had smile on his lips, but it didn't reach his eyes.
"Are we still meeting tonight?" He asked louder than necessary, catching a few passersby's attention.
"Yes, of course." I smiled, my voice sweet and sickly, hoping to melt his hard eyes. It didn't.
Oliver walked away casting one last glance towards me and my friends. As soon as he was out of sight I spun quickly to Ron and punched him hard in the shoulder.
"Ouch!" He yelped, clutching his injured arm.
"What was that for?" He exclaimed, I growled at him before stalking away. Harry's voice reached me through the widening gap between me and the boys.
"I believeRon, it was something you said."
