Chapter 11: Battle scars

Ashley's POV

The car ride home was pretty chill and silent fo a while. Too silent for my liking.

"How'd you get those scars on your legs.?" He asked suddenly

I looked down feeling regret wash over me

"Ohh this old thing.? I think I tripped or something"I said playing dumb pointing to the cuts on my leg.

We stopped at a red light and he gave me this I'm serious look .

"I'm not so good with built up stress , well I wasn't. Everything was just going wrong and I felt so horrible about myself , felt like I deserved pain. So I cut, and it actually made me feel better so I kept doing it."I said feeling ashamed... But we all make mistakes.

"How'd you stop.? " he asked quietly

"When My mom realized what was going on she took me to my therapist and that helped a lot "

"That's amazing. Stay strong hazel." He said starting at me as he parked in the driveway of my house.

"Wanna come in.? It's only uhh" I took a look down at my phone "9"

"Sure" he said turning off the car.

We got out the car and started walking towards my house. When I walked in the door all the lights were off. Mom's still at work. We both started walking upstairs to my room.

I sat on the bed and patted for him to come sit next to me.

"Sooo, do you wanna talk about it now.?" I said still wondering about earlier. Is it so bad for me to want to know.?

"I was driving*pause* that night of the accident" Mmm...Welp, wasn't expecting that. I didn't know what to do so i just sat there looking a bit surprised.

Fix your face Ashley. Okay okay be kool.

"It was around 11pm and we had just gotten from a dinner at her coworkers house. I was mad the whole time because I really didn't want to go but I didn't have a choice. I drove everyone home. Looked back and we crashed. the car burned I could only save Ellie. End of story." He said dryly.

*silence*
Well okay then.

We've been sitting here for about 20 minutes now... Doing nothing.

"Well can I play some music.?" "Will that bother the mood... Well I want it to bother the mood , I want a happy mood" I said rambling.

"Sure hazel" he said dryly

Well okay "sire play music" I said to my phone

Cause we got that fire fire fire yeah we got that fire fire fire and were gonna let it burn.

I hurried up and turned the music off.

"I am so so sorry I honestly didn't think that song would play" My face felt heated and I was feeling so embarrassed.

He started laughing, laughing hard. This made me laugh of relief. We both sat there and died laughing.

"I really like you hazel" he said smiling.

This made me stop laughing. Haha omg.! He likes me awww I like you too.

"I like you too jayden" a lot a lot. You're so sweet I said putting up a smile.
