Chapter 26

I lazily wake up and run my fingers through my hair. I think about what's happening today half awake. Uhh today...um...what's the date...
*tap tap

Huh? I turn around and see a figure on my balcony. Chris? I get up and open the balcony door, letting him in.

"It's 6:30am in the morning what are you doing here" I question.
"You don't remember what day it is?" He questions back.
"Um, Saturday?"
Chris chuckles. "No. Well yes but there's also something else... Happy 2 years!"

"Oh yeah!!" I realize. We've been together for 2 years...wow.. Chris brings something out that he was hiding behind him. White roses. I smile. He really knows me well!

"Aww Chris thanks your the best!" I give him a kiss on the cheek as he smiles.

"Well we're not gonna be in your room the whole day are we get up lets go!" I quietly groan, still tired. It was silent for a bit.

"Unless you want to..." Chris teases. "Chris!" I slap him on the arm. He laughs. "I was just kidding!" "Okay okay."

"So what are we doing today?" I ask curiously. "Well first we are going to the moon, stopping by for a slushee and then we go to Antarctica and visit the Penguins and then we'll go swimming in the ocean while sharks circle us and yeah how does that sound?" Chris grins.

I roll my eyes and laugh at the same time.

"It's a surprise." He finally says. "Can't you just tell me now?!" I whine. "Nope!" He says. "Then it wouldn't be a surprise anymore."

"Fine then." I jokingly pout.

"Let me get changed." I get up and find something suitable to wear then I realise I don't even know where we are going. Argh seriously Chris? I turn around and he's just sitting on my bed, head down on his phone. "Can you at least tell me what I should wear?" "It's just a day out, no need anything fancy. Casual is fine." I nod.

I pick out a long t-shirt and maroon sweatshirt in case it gets cold, along with a pair of ripped white skinny jeans.

I turn back to Chris. He looks at me grinning. "Out." I point to the door.
"But I-" "Out!" I roll my eyes. Chris sticks his tongue out at me and walks out. I chuckle.

I quickly get changed in case he suddenly barges in for some reason, then I call him back in.

"You look good" Chris eyes me up and down. I smirk. "I know I do." "Whatever" Chris jokes. It's pretty early and i take a glance outside the window and it seems kinda cold so I grab a black beanie to match Chris's. "TWINZIES" Chris yells. I laugh.

"Are we leaving now?" I ask Chris. "We can go somewhere for breakfast first then I'll take you on a date to a few different places...you'll love them." It was 8:50am, sounds good.

We quietly went downstairs and I quickly wrote a note to my mum saying:
Hey mum, Chris and I are having a day out.
Call me if you need anything.
Love you xx

"Okay done, let's go." I drop my pen, leave the note on the dining table and we head out.

We hop in Chris's BMW and drive off.

"Where to?" Chris asks. "I don't mind, what about Starbucks since that's pretty close?" "Ok sure." Chris nods.

We arrive and and take a seat in a corner booth. "I'll go order for us. What do you want?" I ask Chris. "Uhh I'll have a white chocolate frappacino and a blueberry bagel." He says handing me some money. I push his hand away but he insists. I eventually take it.

I walk up to the counter. "Hi what would you like today?" A familiar voice strikes me and my head flicks up. Our eyes interlock and I realise I was staring right into the eyes of Isaac. Holy shit what do I do?! I haven't seen him in...like A YEAR or something.

Isaac is my ex. Like from a long time ago. We were fine together, but then he started to get really over protective and dominant, which lead to abusing me and stuff. The last few times I had seen him, he wasn't the same guy he used to be, he was nicer, not that I actually hung out with him, but when I met with him a few times, he seemed kind, caring, a nice guy, it was awkward I guess, but I still remembered every single detail of what he had done to me before that. That is never going to change.

He's grown taller, you can tell his maturing fast and his jawline really stands out. He actually doesn't look that bad.. But that doesn't change anything.

I give a slight glare and order a white chocolate frappacino and a blueberry bagel for Chris, and a caramel macchiato and a ham and cheese croissant for me.

He didn't speak after that, only nodding slightly as he handed me back the change.

I quickly speed walked back to our table and a confused expression is placed on Chris's face. I breathed in and out heavily. That was pretty awkward.

"What's up?" Chris asks. "Uhm..." I look around making sure nobody was listening and whispered, "Isaac.." His eyes widen. "Did he say anything?" He asked. I shaked my head.

I'm actually really surprised he still works here. I remember last time I encountered him here.. Let me tell you, I didn't enjoy it.

Oh well.

We finally finish and head off to the next destination.

"Sooo now can you tell me where we are going next?" I plead. Chris looks at me for a second debating whether he should tell me or not. He then shrugs. "Nope."

I slump down in my car seat. Chris chuckles. "Hold on we're almost there Lara"

The car finally stops as we park on the side of the road. I look around confused. There was nothing here, just roads, pathways, grass and trees. I wonder where this is going?

"Notice anything familiar about this place?" Chris asks as he sees me looking around the landscape. I think for a while... Then i start to remember slowly our surroundings but I still couldn't figure out where we were.

He takes my hand and we walk along the pathway and behind a few trees. There I saw where the destination was and I could feel a huge smile plastered on my face. "Chris...I remember this place! You took me here on one of our first dates.." I say still staring at the coloured lights and tall features. It was the carnival that I use to love so much.

Chris smiles as I stare into his deep brown eyes getting me lost once again. He kisses me on the forehead and we walk hand in hand inside the carnival.
