As we are walking, we walk past the same guy I thought was kinda cute. "Hey Sarah, whose that guy that just walked past us." I point him out. I'm just curious, it's not like I have a crush on him. "Oh that guy, yeah, he's new and he's in our grade. His name is uh Jakob or something?" Sarah says. Jakob...

I keep staring at him as he walks further down into the hallway. "Umm....Lara you do know you have a boyfriend right...?" Sarah waves in my face interrupting my stare. "Wh-wait what?" I try to act confused. "Why were you staring at him then?" She questions. "I wasn't."

She laughs. "Sure you weren't." "Well it's not like I have a crush on him, Chris is way better." I defend myself. And I'm not lying, like yeah he's kinda hot but Chris is wayyy hotter so there's nothing to worry about. I mean, just because you have a boyfriend, it doesn't mean you can't look at other boys.

Right?

The bell rings. I shrug. "Do you have geography?" I ask Sarah. She nods. So we go together to our classroom and take a seat next to each other up the very back. We always have to have the back seats, everyone knows that.

The teacher comes in finally. "Ok students could you all line up against the wall!" The teaches yells on top of the loud chatting. Sadly it's not our old teacher. She doesn't even look that nice.

So we all stand against the wall and she starts calling out names and pointing to seats. Damn it. A seating plan?! You've got to be kidding me.

"Lara Karpathy, over there." She points to one of the back seats. Well at least I got a backseat. I just hope Sarah gets one next to me.

"Sarah Ellen, just here please." Noooooooo! I give her a sad look as she gives one back. I guess she's not that far away from me. She was seated a seat I front and to the right. So technically diagonal to me to the right.

"Jakob Delgado, here please." That name catches my attention and I see Jakob walk over to his seat 3 chairs in front of me.

Sarah looks at me and smirks. I roll my eyes at her.

Half way through the lesson I am pretty much asleep. But then suddenly Jakob asks if he could throw his rubbish in the bin. Since the bin is pretty close to me, he has to walk by my seat.

As he does, he accidentally bumps my table and a few pencils fell on the ground. "Oh sorry!" Jakob says. He picks up the pencils. "Here. Sorry about that." I smile. "Don't worry it's fine." "I'm Jakob by the way." He grins. "I'm Lara." "Lara... That's a nice name." He compliments. As I'm about to say thanks, the teacher interrupts and tells Jakob to get back to his seat. "Talk to you later." He smiles then walks back to his chair.

That was a reasonably nice conversation. I guess.

I look around and I see Sarah staring straight at me gaping. "What?" I mouth at her confusingly. She looks at Jakob then back at me. "You were blushing." She mouths. Shit. I was? I feel my cheeks embarrassed.

"So if you turn around there is a poster of the map of the world at the back of the room." Mrs Dilerra says and the whole class turns around. I look at the poster then when I got bored I turn back around to the front. When I do, I see Jakob staring at me and he smiles. I give him a smile back. I feel tingly and I think I might be blushing.

Does this mean something? It can't be. I'm already in love with Chris.

Am I?
