Chapter 31

"Bye Sarah!" I say as she walks out the door. Suddenly my phone buzzes and I receive a message from Jakob.

J - Hey Lara, it's Jakob. So what do you have in mind for tomorrow?:)

I immediately reply back.

L - Do you surf?

J - Yep. Do you?

L - Yeah:) Wanna go surf at the beach?

J - Sure, that would be great! What about Bondi?

L - That would be good. Is 9:00am good?

J - Yeah that's perfect.

L - Kay then! See u tomorrow, bye.

J - Bye:)

As soon as we finished our conversation, Chris calls asking if I wanted to come over for a bit. I wasn't busy so I said yes. "Ethan! I'm going to Chris's place for a little, be back soon!" I hear a muffled "yeah ok" then I grab my phone and a beanie and walk next door.

*knock knock

"Heyyy how's my girl?" Chris opens the door letting me in. "Good thanks, how bout you?" I grin. "Not too bad." He takes my hand and we run upstairs. "Okay so I was just recording a new cover song. Want to hear it?" Chris says. "Yes please!" We go inside his recording studio and stand in front of the computers.

He clicks play and the music starts. The song was She looks so perfect by 5SOS and wow it was amazing! "This is soo good Chris!" I gasp. "Aw really? Thanks." He hugs me from behind and plants kiss on my cheek.

We just stand there for a while, listening to the song, while I am in his arms. I can feel his warm breath breathing against my ear and I close my eyes, never wanting him to let go.

But life's not a fantasy, so eventually, he lets go. After listening to the end of the song, we bring some snacks into his room and hang out for a while.

It's now 11:50pm. I should get going. "Chris I think i should get going." I say. He nods sadly. "Wait can't you stay over? Pleaseeee?" Chris whines. "I can't I'm sorry, maybe another time. I have to be somewhere early tomorrow." I look into his eyes. "Where are you going?" He asks me. Oh god. What do I say?

I look down at the floor, thinking if I should lie or not.

I won't. Because then I'll feel really bad, and he doesn't deserved to be lied to. I sigh. "Um, well, I'm going out with a friend." I simply say, still looking at the ground. I can tell Chris is suspicious by the way I'm acting so he questions even further. "Who's this friend?" He lifts my chin up so he can look directly into my eyes.

"His name is Jakob. He is the one in my geography class.." I say quietly. Chris says nothing, but I can tell he is getting really jealous. "It's not a date Chris I promise." I add.

"I'm coming." He says.

"Chris, you can't just do that.. Trust me. Nothing will happen, Its fine." I slowly say.
"What do you mean I can't do that?! It's not fine at all!" Chris suddenly bursts out angry.

I get annoyed by him yelling at me so I slightly raise my voice. "Chris you can't decide where I go or who I go with okay! I know you are just trying to look out for me but you don't need to! I'm allowed to hang out with guys with or without your permission because it's not your right to tell me what to do!!" I end up yelling back.

"Bullshit! Sometimes you can act like a real slut you know? You go out with guys alone, never telling me what you are doing and I've had enough of it!!" Chris shouts. My mouth hangs open. Did he just call me a slut?!

Fine then! I am sick of this, so I walk out the bedroom door slamming it shut then run down the stairs and out the door, running back to my house. It's really dark so I run even faster because you know? I can get kidnapped. And don't tell me I'm being silly and that my house is only next door but trust me. I've been kidnapped before. I sigh at the memory. I enter my house and stomp up the stairs and into my bedroom.

I blink as a single tear drop leaks out. I wipe it off and lay in bed, quietly crying myself to sleep. As I am about to shut off, I hear my phone vibrate so many times, but then, it stops. That's when I finally black out.
