This time when we wake up, Sean doesn't practically punch me. Instead he kisses me, which is a much better way of waking up if you were wondering.
“what do you want to do today?” he asks.
Before I could say anything, my aunt decides to barge in. “Lindsey!” she screams, even though she's standing only feet away.
I peek over Seans shoulder to look at her, “yes Sally?”
“guess what?!”
Sean was still covered by the blankets and from her view it probably looked like he was still asleep. To me though, it was totally different. When I sat up it gave him the perfect level to kiss my collarbone, which he decided to do. This felt more than amazing and made it hard to speak. “um-what?”
“they want us to make the float?”
“who?”
“the Crab Princess Board.”
“the what?”
I take in a sharp breath as Sean begins to nibble. Sally must have noticed because she tells me to come downstairs when I'm ready and we'll talk then. When she leaves I glare down at Sean and he innocently smirks back.
“you're evil, you know that?”
“nope, didn't know. But it's good to know my flaws I guess.”
I roll my eyes and climb out of bed, “well, while you consider your flaws, I'm going to go talk to Sally.”
“you want to go play soccer today?” he asks, sitting up.
“it will depend on what I have to do here.” I tell him and then leave to go talk to Sally. She was in the kitchen humming along to the radio when I found her. “sorry about that up there.”
“why are you apologizing?” she asks, turning around.
“um, no reason really. So, what's this about a float?”
“there's a big parade every year and before the parade a Crab Princess is crowned. They need a float for her.”
“oh. Okay. I can help with that. When is it?”
“in a month.”
“not too hard. Any orders for today?”
“nope, everyone seems pretty caked out from last night.”
“so if I go hang out with the guys.”
she smiles and nods, “go.”
I jump up and hug her, “thank you!” I turn to run back upstairs.
“oh and Lindsey?”
I turn back around on the stairs, “yes?”
“you were nominated for the competition.”
“I was?” she nods and walks over to me, handing me a letter. “Dear Lindsey Carson, I am happy to congratulate you on being nominated for the 2010 Crab Princess.” I stare down at the letter and then up at my aunt, “what the hell?”
“someone must have liked you a lot.” she comments and then leaves me standing there shocked. I fold up the letter and walk back upstairs to change. Sean was already dressed, sitting on my bed.
“you look dazed.” he comments.
I smile and walk over to my dresser, “you wouldn't have happened to nominate someone for the Crab Princess, would you?” I wasn't facing him but I knew he was smiling.
“hmm, can't remember.”
“really?” I turn around, my eyebrows raised. “cause I got this silly letter saying that I was nominated. And since family members can't nominate, you're the only other option on my list.”
“technically, you're not supposed to know who nominated you. So I can't tell either way.”
I pout and turn back around to my clothes, pulling out a tank top and shorts. That's what I love about this weather, I could wear shorts on a daily basis.
“but hey!” Sean calls after me as I walk into the bedroom, “it'll be good for someone to beat Rebeccas' skinny ass for once.”
I narrow my eyes at him and close the door to quickly change. I put my hair up in a messy bun and apply sunscreen to my skin before walking back out to the bedroom.
“so I get to spend another pointless summer getting destroyed by Rebecca, sounds like fun.”
Sean walks up to me and wraps his arms around my waist. “let's forget about all that and go kick some soccer butt.” I laugh and quickly peck his lips.
