A Purple Bag

I have never been so quickly terrified in my life. I was paralyzed. I stood there, only moving my eyes, back & forth between Walli and the blue eyed stranger. Walli's eyes were cold & determined, but there was a slight fear behind them, that only I noticed. Because it only appeared when he looked at me.

"Leave her be, Ramos. This isn't how its meant to be." I was now beyond confused. Did Walli know this man? And why did he fear my safety around him? Questions raced through my brain. Then Blue Eyes spoke.

"This is the only way, especially now. You knew this day would come, Julian." Julian? Did he just call Walli Julian? And what was the only way? What the actual heck is going on?! It had all become to much. I was ready to speak up, but just then Blue Eyes moved to walk out the door, still tightly grasping my wrist.

"Ramos! Ramos! Don't do this!" Walli chirped in.

"You know I have to." Replied the boy, barely above a whisper, almost like he was talking to himself.

"Fine then. If its a fight you want, its a fight you'll get." With that, Walli sprang full force into the air. He descended towards the boy like a bullet. But Blue Eyes, or Ramos, was ready for him. And swung around. They hit each other in unison & both went flying backward. With that, my wrist was free.

"Run Mia! Run and don't look back!" Walli said urgently.

"But Wal-" I didn't wanna leave Walli alone like this.
"Please Mia! While you still have a chance!" Something in his eyes, though I was strongly against it, started making me walk backwards, away from him. I then turned, and headed for the back door.

I could see from where I was hiding across the street what was happening. I know I should've kept running. But I had to be sure Walli was ok.

By now, Ramos had recovered & was headed towards Walli. Walli was in no shape to fight. Especially not to fight this boy. He was a good bit younger than Walli was, and Walli had a bad leg. Thus wouldn't end well, but I had no idea what to do.

I watched in horror as the boy reared back to hit Walli in the face. But suddenly, Walli was moving. Swiftly grabbing the boy's arm and flipping him around. It was rather incredible. I had no idea Walli could fight this way.

The boy jumped back up and Walli was on his feet. They circled one another. And my body went rigid.
I could see they were speaking, rather calmly. But there was an intensity to both of their expressions. All at once, Walli's expression turned furious & he yelled so loudly I could hear it from where I stood across the street.

"No! I'll die, and KILL you before I let that happen to her! Not after what I promised her mother." Walli shoved his hand in his pocket and pulled out a small purple bag.

Ramos suddenly looked frightened. And had his hands up in a somewhat surrendering manner. But it was pointless. Walli reared back as if to hit Ramos just had Ramos had hit him, only Walli had a purple bag clenched in his fist. He pushed forward, and released the bag on to Ramos.
"NOOOOOO!"

Suddenly Ramos fell to the ground, not moving. My eyes widened in horror. Was he....dead? Had Walli just...killed someone? It was to much, it was all to much. I then fell on my knees letting out something between a gasp and a scream, like the wind had been knocked out of me. That's when Walli noticed me.

"Mia, listen to me. You have to leave. That will only keep him unconscious for a few hours." Unconscious? So he wasn't dead. Thank God. Wait, what am I saying? This guys just tried to kidnap me. Even if he had killed him, it would've been to protect me. Still though....Walli, a killer? I couldn't imagine it. So I was relieved.

"You need to go. Now." My focus was then brought back to the current situation. Walli start fiddling with something in his pocket.

"Go where? How? Who is he and why is he trying to take me?" Walli stopped fiddling with his pocket & placed both of his hands on my shoulders.

"Mia, sweet heart, I'm so sorry. It was my job to protect you. Now Ramos is here, and you're in danger. I only wish I could've kept this from happening, but all I can do now is get you as far from his as possible. There's no time to answer your questions, but I believe you'll be figuring out the answers yourself very soon. But now is the time to leave." He took out of his pocket what he had been fiddling with. "Here's $1200, its all I have right now. But it'll be enough to get you to Miami. You have an aunt there, from your father's side whom you've never met. But she knows all about you. She'll meet you at the airport there, and take you in." My mind was racing. I barely grasped the things Walli was telling me. But one thing stuck out clear in my mind.

"What about you?" I searched Walli's eyes, worry coursing through me.

"Mia, I'll be fine. He doesn't want me, you need to be worried about yourself. Which is why you should already be gone." Walli then handed me the keys to his corvet. The nicest thing he owned, he treasured it. "This will get you there fastest. Go. Go now." He pushed me toward the car & I got in, started the engine and started to drive off, but I stopped abruptly just a few feet away.

Walli!" His head jerked up. He had been typing on his phone. "I love you." I said with deep sincerity, now leaving the 2 last people I had in the world. If I were in Miami, I'd be losing India too.

"I love you too, Mia." What seemed to be a small tear slid down his cheek in that instant, and my heart started breaking. I couldn't do a goodbye. So I simply turned back to the steering wheel and continued on towards who knows what.
