Chapter 6: Mended Friendship

It has been a week. A whole week since Baekhyun locked himself up in his room. The only time he open the doors is when Kris put a tray of food outside his room. Somehow, Kris has failed in persuading Baekhyun to come out. Kris had no choice but to call them.

Kris drove to the gates of Hangri high school. He might think that a certain someone can persuade Baekhyun in coming out of his room. He waited at his car. There, he saw Kai. He walked towards him. Kai was shocked in Kris's appearance. He did'nt expect that Kris would even visit him. Kai plucked up his courage and asked," What happened to Baekhyun?"

Kris sighed and answered," I need your help. The death of his sister had took a toll on him. It's been a week and yet..."

Kai looked at Kris and said," He just lost someone he loves. I understand that feeling."

Without any more delays, Kris took him to where Baekhyun is. In the car, Kris said while driving," Where is that other friend of yours? The tall one with the big ears." Kai smiled and lied," He has detention for being late."
Well, the truth is Chanyeol has been avoiding Kai. The fact that they're not in the same class makes it harder for Kai to explain his situation to him. Kai didn't want to have a Mafia life. As Kai is the only son to Mr Kim, he had no choice. Each time Kai called Chanyeol during break time, he would just ignore Kai. As if, he wasn't there. Chanyeol wouldn't even there to look at Kai. As if, he's afraid of him.

Kris stopped the car and turned around so that he can see Kai, who is in the back seat. He said," We're here."
They've entered the house and Kris led him to the door of Baekhyun's room. Kai knocks the door. He could her Baekhyun's voice on the other side saying," Go away."

Kai leaned at the door and said," It's me. I know you've just lost your sister. It's hard. Please let me in."

Kai waited for a minute before Baekhyun opened the door. Baekhyun looks terrible. With his eyebags and bloodshot eyes. His pink hair are all messy but surprisingly, his hair dye are not faded. Baekhyun sighed and signalled him to enter the room. Kai entered the room. The room is not smelly but his room is like a tornado just struck. Books are all over the place. Kai couldn't tell what colour the floor is due to the scattered pieces of paper on the floor.

Kai was shocked by the sight he saw at the wall. The wall was supposed to be empty is now filled with newspaper cuttings of the recent killings. There is also red strings which connects each segment. This scene reminded him of the movie Sherlock Holmes. Kai sighed and thought It is like you're Sherlock Holmes and I'm his Doctor sidekick. But only I'm not a doctor and you're not a detective.

We're both are just lost living souls, who are looking for answers, The truth.

Baekhyun stared at that wall which Kai stared at and said," I won't rest till I find the killer."

Kai then took a hoodie that was lying on the floor and tossed it to Baekhyun. Baekhyun hold the hoodie in his hands ad he stared at Kai blankly. Kai said," I'm bringing you out. You look pale. I'm sure your sister won't rest in peace when she sees you like this. You can take your revenge but not in your current condition."

Then, something struck into Baekhyun's mind.

I just hope that he won't get injured, he won't be hurt.

Those exact words from her last entry. Baekhyun realised that Kai is right. Baekhyun sighed as he wore the hoodie. Kai sighed and he went over to Baekhyun to fix his hair. Kai smiled at him as he pulled him out of his room.

Kai shouted before leaving the house," Mr Baekhyun's hyung, I'm bringing him out. This guy needs fresh air." Kris rolled his eyes and shouted," I have a name Kris. K.R.I.S."
