Chapter 8: Mysteries behind the folder

It is the term break and the students are given a week of holiday. The students are celebrating their 'temporary freedom'. However, this isn't the case for Baekhyun.

" Yah, What are we doing again?" Baekhyun asked Kris for the nth time. Baekhyun is currently sitting down in the living room of their house. Ever since, Chanyeol and Kai caught them leaving the police station, Kris is being extra cautious about their movements now. Baekhyun wipe his wet hair and hung the towel around his neck. He had just finished showering when Kris dragged him into the living room. Kris handed him a laptop and asked him to search it.

Kris was busy looking through the crime scene pictures while Baekhyun is busy going through files of an unknown laptop. Baekhyun plucked up the courage and asked," Who's laptop is this?"

Kris handed him a file. As Baekhyun slowly when through the file, Kris explained," Third victim, Park Ah Reum. She was believed to have committed suicide by jumping off a rooftop of a 16 story office building. The interesting fact is that when she jumped off she was holding the laptop. That laptop in front of you."

Baekhyun immediately backed away from the laptop. Baekhyun thought to himself. This is her laptop!

Kris sighed as Baekhyun asked in a stunned expression," The laptop must have been severely damaged. How?"

Kris glared at him and interrupted," I'm getting there."

His glared at Baekhyun made him to keep quiet and gestured him to continue. Kris then continued," I've asked someone to fix that laptop but the folders are all gone. So I've asked a friend to do something about it and he did."

Baekhyun put the folder down and moved towards the laptop. The guy eyed his partner and asked," Is this friend of yours a high school student?"

Kris nod his head and answered," Yup third year at EST Academy."

"EST! Elite Science and Technology Academy?! And a third year?! That guy supposed to be preparing for a college entrance exam than helping you!" Baekhyun exclaimed. Kris chose to ignore him an continue his work.

Sometimes I believe that Kris is the dangerous one towards high school students. Baekhyun thought to himself as he continued his work. Just then, Baekhyun saw something at the internet browsing history. He has discovered that Ah Reum has been using online chatting sites often.

It seems that this will be a long week for Byun Baekhyun.

Baekhyun then paused and looked at the time. It is almost 9 in the morning. Baekhyun excused himself and made his way to his room. Baekhyun seems different than his usual self. He walked to his closet and took out a suit. He sighed and muttered," I never thought this day would come. The day when I'll be at your funeral at this age."

He changed and groomed his hair a little to be neat. He made his way out of his room. In the living room, his partner disappeared. Baekhyun looked down depressingly.

He is unsure whether to go to the funeral or not. Just then Kris appeared with a bouquet of white roses in front of him. He looked at the roses and said," I know what day it is today and you should go. Talk to your family in the process and make up with them. You don't need to live with them or anything but just be nice to them."

He then looked at the younger one and continued," Don't be like me. Trust me. You'll regret not making up with them once they're gone."

Baekhyun frowned and thought to himself. Don't be like me?? What does that mean?

Baekhyun is wondering what his hyung has just said. Before he could think of anything else, Kris pulled Baekhyun into a manly hug. Kris then said softly," I'm not being gay. I'm just trying to cheer you up."
