I read the article over and over and over, and each and every time I finish it I groan in frustration and annoyance.
"Okay, so someone sounds like a dying horse, and I'm guessing it's you. What's wrong?" Bri asks, plopping on my bed as usual.
"Look who's gone boyfriend shopping? You guessed it! Brandy Roberts. Not only has she stolen Vanessa Bridge's boyfriend, but she's broken hearts as well. On the right are some kisses caught on camera."
"Whoah, what!?" She snatches my laptop from off my lap and speed reads through the article, and her eyes widen when she finishes. Then she chuckles. "Dude, you're so screwed."
"I know that."
"And they caught a picture of you in a car! You, my friend, are a victim of camera ninjas."
"Bri!" I whine, " Help me!"
"Powerpuff, this isn't my level of expertise. I'm not sure how to advise you on this one."
I groan again. "But you always have great advice! Brianna!" I give her my best puppy-dog eyes.
"Nah-ah-ah!" She wags her finger in my face. "I fall for your manipulative round marbles of glory no more!"
I pout instead. "You're a butt," I mumble.
"But you still love me." She bounces off my bed and walks out of my room.
I sigh. What am I supposed to do now?
*~*~*~*
"Hello, Brandy, long time no see," Terra says, sitting down at my lunch table. Now I wouldn't say the table is mine, but since I've been here, and I'm basically Queen bee, it was declared mine when everyone started saying it was.
Like I literally hear people say things like, "Oh my God, those two guys are cool enough to sit at Brandy's table. They're so lucky." And instead of being normal people and sitting down at the table, they stand around and watch me, Rick, and Taylor eat our lunches until we leave.
"Yeah, I'm not really a fan of girls. They cause too much drama," I reply while putting a spoonful of food in my mouth.
"And these poor boys have to put up with you. I give them my deepest sympathy." Taylor and Rick both sputter on their food, obviously because they were about to laugh.
"And I don't see any boys with you. Hm, I wonder why... Oh, right! You're annoying," I deadpan. She rolls hers eyes, and before she says anything else, I speak up again. "I'm not in the mood for a verbal war. You're here for a reason. What do you want?"
"I wanted to know if you'd like to come to my sleepover tonight and get to know some of us girls, but seeing as you don't like girls, I don't know if this is really your scene."
I laugh. "Honey, I'm an actress and a model. It's my job to make everything my scene. What time should I be there?"
"Wait, so you're really coming? You don't have plans with the boys?" I glance at Taylor and Rick, and they're both looking back at me.
"I hope you don't end up making me anymore famous than I already am. These two have done a lot of damage so no stupid stuff, understand?"
She nods and hands me a paper, which I expect is an invitation. There better be freaking streamers and cake if she went as far as making invitations.
